Hamonic *should be better for us then Zaitsev though, plus just has one more year leftIf we need to dump salary to get Chychrun it might wiser to trade Hamonic instead of Zaitsev since
A. He'd be cheaper to dump
B. Arizona is like on Zaitsev's NTC
If we get Chychrun then our top 6 isHamonic *should be better for us then Zaitsev though, plus just has one more year left
If we get Chychrun then our top 6 is
Chabot-Chychrun
Sanderson-Zub
Brannstrom-Holden
Neither Zaitsev nor Hamonic would be a regular anyways.
I dont think that bottom pairing would be DJ Smith's choice...If we get Chychrun then our top 6 is
Chabot-Chychrun
Sanderson-Zub
Brannstrom-Holden
Neither Zaitsev nor Hamonic would be a regular anyways.
Hamonic was getting more mins than Holden when both were on the team, I find it unlikely that we'd play Holden on his off side ahead of Hamonic. If we get Chychrun then our top 6 is

Hell no. DeBrincat was a far better get.It is funny that Zaitsev, Holden and Hamonic were all literally bottom 3 on that top defensemen in NHL list.
J.Brown and Mete would be even below them if they played 18+ minutes.
Brannstrom was somewhere in that 100 range, too
Wish we could've gotten Chychrun instead of DeBrincat.
forward group is loaded, while defense still remains completely broken
Don't think the assets given up for DBat would have netted JC.It is funny that Zaitsev, Holden and Hamonic were all literally bottom 3 on that top defensemen in NHL list.
J.Brown and Mete would be even below them if they played 18+ minutes.
Brannstrom was somewhere in that 100 range, too

My post was under the scenario that Hamonic gets traded.Hamonic was getting more mins than Holden when both were on the team, I find it unlikely that we'd play Holden on his off side ahead of Hamonic.
Players don't lose their NTC when they waive their right to nix a trade. They aren't waiving the clause itself. Why does Zaitsev even have an NTC? Didn’t he waive it to come here?
Ah, ok. I doubt we run with 5 LHD.My post was under the scenario that Hamonic gets traded.
Pretty lateral move IMO. Assets to unload Zaitsev + small asset to get Holl with very little, if any on ice improvement. Pass.Zaitsev
f***in dumb as hellIt is funny that Zaitsev, Holden and Hamonic were all literally bottom 3 on that top defensemen in NHL list.

For Chych:i have to admit, hearing that he actually has interest in coming here makes it even more intriguing.
Still hold fast to no greig or pinto though imo.
1 2nd for zaitsev and I'm in. 2 is a high price imo.For Chych:
2023 1st (top 3 protected)
1 of: Brännström, Bernard-Docker, Thomson, Kleven
1 of: Formenton, Boucher, Ostapchuk, Järventie
For Zaitsev:
2024 2nd
2025 2nd
He wasn’t getting PP time because his back is shot and his shot is gone. Without his shot and explosiveness he’s not a great PP option anymore.PK Subban on a league minimum. He can anchor the 3rd pair, apparently wasn't getting any PP time in NJD anymore so won't be fighting for that against Chabot or Brannstrom.
I don't see how we get Chychrun (and send them Zaitsev) without parting with either an unprotected 1st or Greig at the very least. For Chych:
1 of: 2023 1st (top 3 protected)
1 of: Brännström, Bernard-Docker, Thomson, Kleven
1 of: Formenton, Boucher, Ostapchuk, Järventie
For Zaitsev:
2024 2nd
2025 2nd
Right…which was in response to me saying Jersey offered something we likely would not be willing to beat.True but Hale's point still stands imo. He is closer in value to Smith than Greig or Pinto who are worth more imo
