It is funny that Zaitsev, Holden and Hamonic were all literally bottom 3 on that top defensemen in NHL list.
J.Brown and Mete would be even below them if they played 18+ minutes.
Brannstrom was somewhere in that 100 range, too

Hamonic was getting more mins than Holden when both were on the team, I find it unlikely that we'd play Holden on his off side ahead of Hamonic.

Players don't lose their NTC when they waive their right to nix a trade. They aren't waiving the clause itself.

The only way a player loses an NTC is if they are traded before it kicks in and the team getting the contract can refuse to honour it.

This is what happened to Subban and what might have happened with Zaitsev but his NTC kicked in on the same day his signing bonus was paid so Melnyk made Dorion wait before making the trade so we had to honour the NTC.

He wasn’t getting PP time because his back is shot and his shot is gone. Without his shot and explosiveness he’s not a great PP option anymore.

I don't see how we get Chychrun (and send them Zaitsev) without parting with either an unprotected 1st or Greig at the very least.

If Dorion somehow acquires Chychrun and keeps Pinto and Greig, while protecting the pick, it'll be more impressive than anything he's done in his last six years as Sens GM.
