Chicago and probably Connor Murphy's NTC.Formenton + Zaitsev for Connor Murphy... who says no?
Nobody is going near Formenton right now.

The only way I can see that effecting it is if Formenton is a key piece in a trade for a d-man and the other team wants clarity on the situation. Otherwise, I'm not really sure. I'd like to think the plan was always to add a d-man with this forward group already set in stone. The more the HC thing drags on, the more I wonder if PD is effectively frozen from making moves until he knows what the outcome of the investigations will be.
Well, maybe Klingberg values lifestyle and weather over competitiveness. Isn't California more tax friendly than Ontario for millionaires as well?
I honsetly think the best time to get a RHD would be next offseason, lots of free agents, one year makes Zaitsev much easier to move as well. If one of Thomson or Docker improves this year, we'd still be much better anyways.
Justin Holl was terrible last year. You need to see an optometristJustin Holl is >>>>>>> Hamonic and Zaitsev.
He looks fine to the eye and analytically he checks out as essentially an average/above-average defensively minded number 4 defenseman. I think he'd be a nice fit as a partner for Sanderson. If the Leafs have to give him away then it's definitely the move to make.
I think the Sens are stuck with Zaitsev. Just have to live with him as the 7th.
Problem is Brannstrom has never had a season close to Smith's solid rookie year.
Kinda depends on how deep conversations are with ChychrunWith all the UFA d-men gone and our need to move Zaitsev, I don't see this happening without giving up an unprotected 1st and/or Pinto/Greig.
Dorion really should have just paid the price for Marino and moved on. He kind of overplayed his hand. The extra year or two on his contract weren't a big deal.
Klingberg to Anaheim
1 year 7M
Should have been us
2 seasons ago. And upped it to 14 points in 53 last year, with no goals.Brannstrom had 13 points in 30 games last season, which is similar to Smith's 23 points in 48 games.
California is the NY of the west coast. Heavily taxed (I think may be highest in the country actually). Ya'll are thinking of Florida.I find it hard to believe a guy taking a one-year deal would favor climate and tax benefit over playing on a competitive team. Klingberg needs to prove he's able to provide top-4 level defense if he wants to get paid long term and I'm not sure he'll be able to do this with Anaheim this season. My guess is we didn't pursue him very much.

Was probably swiping across hot chicks in bikini's and accidentally hit the like button on a sportsnet sponsored post
Tkachuk! He brings truculence and physical playoff hockey!Who do you guys think is better, Mathew Tkachuk or DeBrincat?
There are always face-offs and net front battles!Kieth probably couldn’t catch him though
If we don't find a d-man, this is probably what I'd go with:
Chabot-Zub
Sanderson-Holden
All you can do is hope Sanderson has a Hesikanen/Seider-like rookie season. Thomson could take the next step, but starting off with a Sanderson-Thomson pairing is risky.
Unless Zaitsev goes likely not getting Chychurun, we already got the board to up budget twice, probably not happening a third time.Maybe a prospect or two ups their value over the next few weeks at the WJC. I'm assuming the goal right now is trying to get Chychrun without giving up either Pinto or Greig.
So for Brannstrom it's this year that counts, but for Ty Smith, his rookie year is the one to look to, gotcha, that makes perfect sense.2 seasons ago. And upped it to 14 points in 53 last year, with no goals.
Budget was set back in June. Dorion has room to add the top 4 D. I think he is doing what everyone says they want, don’t make a move in a panic, let the price drop to a place he is prepared to play.Unless Zaitsev goes likely not getting Chychurun, we already got the board to up budget twice, probably not happening a third time.
Arizona wants the moon for him, or he would of been moved 1 1/2 years ago when the rumours started.
Players are only worth what someone is willing to pay.So for Brannstrom it's this year that counts, but for Ty Smith, his rookie year is the one to look to, gotcha, that makes perfect sense.
Grass is always greener I guess.
It was set in June, and then PD went back to board to get a second raise to budget to get DeBrincat.Budget was set back in June. Dorion has room to add the top 4 D. I think he is doing what everyone says they want, don’t make a move in a panic, let the price drop to a place he is prepared to play.
