When is this dude not injured.

Has missed an average of 30% of his teams' games over his 6 season career, and he hasn't even hit double digits in playoff games.

Would his body even survive the physicality of post-season play?
Always friggin injured. I like that he appears to come here. But NO Greig or Pinto for him. NO.

I think for this yr a Sanderson - Hamonic tandem will be fine. Let's not forget that both Holden & Hamonic are UFAs & both could be moved by the TDL or not re-signed. Of the two Hamonic IMO has the best chance of being re-signed if he has a good yr or we haven't been able to trade for a legit top 4 RD. I also think they will roll with Holden, Brannstrom & Zaitsev on the 3rd pairing, but at some point this season I expect them to get JBD &/or Thomson on this team.
I hope playing in a contract year brings out the best and prime in each of them so that if they want to move on and try to get a Gudbranson type deal in CBJ they can get that, and we get legit partners for Sanderson and Brannstrom, in addition to letting the prospects like Thomson and JBD cook a bit more. If one of them wants to stay after having a very good season, as long as its a cheap cap hit i'm good

Last year we had 77 games played by Brannstrom, Thomson and JBD. They're all 1st rounders and coming of age. I'd expect that games played number to be higher and I'd expect a higher level of play. I think we'll be fine on D.

I also have high expectations for Sanderson

Why not? Especially considering the impact that similar viewed defensemen (Seider, Heiskanen, Hughes, Sergachev, McAvoy, Werenski, Chychrun, etc) had in their rookie seasons?

I just think for Sanderson to become a #3 guy during his first season he needs to play with someone better than Hamonic. It's a lot to ask of any rookie to be the main driver on the 2nd pairing.

So Chychrun has a wrist injury and is not cleared to shoot pucks yet. He also had bone spurs taken out of his ankle over the summer.

On the trade front, according to him, it is still his wish to be traded to a team that can compete for a playoff spot.

Ugh, coming back from injury, poor fit as he's more of a LHD, and requiring a boatload of assets to acquire? I'd much rather wait till the deadline and trade for a rental top 4 RHD. Who are the potential candidate RHDs, on teams that might sell at the deadline?

I'm wondering if there a way we can get Scott Mayfield when the Islanders fall off a cliff this year without Trotz.

Just checked: he's in the 2nd of a 4-yr contract he signed with Seattle. I don't think he qualifies as a rental unfortunately. I don't see Seattle trading him, as they probably value his veteran presence and view him as a building block.

He could be trying to force a trade. This is exactly what Chychrun said:

He might be healthy enough to play but just telling the medical staff that he isn't quite feeling fully recovered. It keeps him out of the lineup and puts some pressure on the organization to ship him out. His comments suggest that they approached him about trading him and he agreed that that would be best. He is likely a little pissed off that he is still in Arizona so maybe this is his way of trying to force them to go through with a trade.

David Pagnotta said at the draft, we were so close to a deal. He think we still talk regularly

It might sound scummy but this press conference could bode well for us if it forces Arizona to lower the price for Chychrun.

If Stu becomes like G as a player that can play wing and center ,then we drafted exactly what the new NHL demands ,and we will prosper

Chychrun is really piling up the injuries, isn't he. The idea of having any work done to the ankles...that's a new one. Not sure if I'd want to bring in a player who has had those kinds of foot problems. Hockey is hard enough on the feet wearing skates for hours a day....adding injuries to it....well, we already know about that, don't we...

Invest into lithium stocks.

If I had liquidity I’d be heavily investing in Bolivia - and by abstract their transportation infrastructure and innovation. It’s the largest deposit of known lithium in the world. Most, if not all, of South America is primed for economic expansion not seen since 1990’s China

There’s a trillion dolllar lithium salt lake at the top of those Bolivian mountains.

Russia is off limits, the Middle East has their own ambitions, China owns most of east Asia and is expanding into Africa and Europe is either mined out or wrapped in red tape.

Not to get all SteamPunk but Lockheed Martin Skunkworks has a 20 tonne capable air ship. Personally I believe that unless by some miracle massive amounts of UAP disclosure happens that dirigibles will be the key to transporting raw materials in the near future.

Especially in a future where emissions are restricted and batteries operate virtually everything.

I'm ok with Chychrun if the price is good for us, like 1st + Zaitsev + prospects not named Sanderson/Pinto/Greig. Otherwise why bother? He's not even RHD so he's more of a luxury than a need

We make the playoffs with Holden and Hamonic playing their absolute best during a contract year, they both price themselves out of Ottawa in UFA. Arizona holds onto Chychrun the whole season and his value drops because he doesn't play much and its another tank year for them.

Next year, we trade a top 10 protected 1st, Zaitsev, Sokolov and Brannstrom for Chychrun to kick off Summer of Dorion 2.0

So Chychrun left town finally?

Yeah talks of even more injuries plus the fact he wasn't skating with the local gang during the offseason doesn't make me want to pay up even my diluted package from a few posts back.

Make that offer now:
2023 OTT 1st, top 3 protected, conditional on games played e.g. Chychrun must play >60 games. If he plays less than 60 games, it gets pushed until 2024.
2024 OTT 2nd
Brannstrom
Guénette/Aspirot
Zaitsev

Even if Holden has a career year, I doubt he gets more than a 1 year contract as a 36 year old guy that was never more than a #4. Probably at 1.5M again.

Hamonic someone might have to overpay if there's a bidding war 2-3 years at 2M AAV I could see, again with a career year.

We're not talking about 30 year olds here. These guys have slown down a lot over the last few years. Gudbranson had the benefit of being freshly out of his 20s. Kinda like Hamonics last contract negotiation year.

That being said, even on a discount, I don't see the team or us wanting them back unless it's for 1 year or two years max, respectively.

Am I interpreting this correctly as the league currently has instructed them to sit tight until a verdict comes through?
