I'm so curious as to what the offer is from Ottawa and what Arizona countered with.

I'd seriously love to know. I've always assumed the hold up was Greig or Pinto, but who the heck knows.

I'm thinking it was something like 2 1sts+Greig in order to dump Zaitsev+get Chychrun.

Ott has a lot more cards then arizona right now by the looks of it. Chychrun clearly doesnt want to be there anymore and could be exaggerating and injury to be held out

The longer it drags on, the worse the value will be for Arizona. At some point Armstrong is just going to have to accept that he won't get everything he wants.

All I said was dude had to give up a ton in taxes and that sucks. You guys turned it into a down with the rich, f them for being rich. To me that is the definition of butt hurt.
Ya seemed like a bit of an overreaction to a pretty simple comment. PK isn't some super elite who has been making his fortune off the back of his under paid lackeys or getting ridiculous bonuses off Bay Street.

That said, I have no doubt he has good people finding ways for him to save loads in tax shelters, businesses, etc...

I didn't know that about JC: He is also the nephew of Luke Richardson

and can you identify his sister?

So Chychrun left town finally?

Yeah talks of even more injuries plus the fact he wasn't skating with the local gang during the offseason doesn't make me want to pay up even my diluted package from a few posts back.

Make that offer now:
2023 OTT 1st, top 3 protected, conditional on games played e.g. Chychrun must play >60 games. If he plays less than 60 games, it gets pushed until 2024.
2024 OTT 2nd
Brannstrom
Guénette/Aspirot
Zaitsev

Even if Holden has a career year, I doubt he gets more than a 1 year contract as a 36 year old guy that was never more than a #4. Probably at 1.5M again.

Hamonic someone might have to overpay if there's a bidding war 2-3 years at 2M AAV I could see, again with a career year.

We're not talking about 30 year olds here. These guys have slown down a lot over the last few years. Gudbranson had the benefit of being freshly out of his 20s. Kinda like Hamonics last contract negotiation year.

That being said, even on a discount, I don't see the team or us wanting them back unless it's for 1 year or two years max, respectively.

Am I interpreting this correctly as the league currently has instructed them to sit tight until a verdict comes through?

The league is conducting their own investigation. Once that is complete they will weigh in, and that’s what Dorion is waiting on.

I doubt anyone is waiting on formal criminal charges at this point as that water is incredibly murky.

Critized him a lot for his non sense sometime but

Kudos to Dorion for not bending to ARI price for JC

Main board seem to think he is injured often

The more this drags out with Chychrun the better for us. Turris situation all over again.

Only thing is, we get to see what we have in Hamonic. I still believe Hamonic eventually plays with Chabot and Zub solidifies with Sanderson.

I also believe sometime this season we are acquiring a top 4 RD. Bookmark it.

Haven't done this in awhile, so here is 2023-24 roster with salaries = $81.7 m.

If we added Chychrun salary ($4.6 m AAV) to this (see below) roster, our total cap would be $86.425 m (moved JBD to 7D).

Notes:
Pinto and Formenton/replacement @ $2.0 m which seems pretty conservative. Overall, the salary assumptions are pretty conservative, and might be a little light.

JBD & Thomson on blueline and Søgaard in net.

22 player roster.

Tkachuk 8.205
Norris 7.950
Batherson 4.975
Total Line 1: $21.13 m

Debrincat 9.0 (qualifying offer)
Stutzle 8.35
Giroux 6.5
Total Line 2: $23.85 m

Joesph 2.95
Pinto 2.0 (resigned)
Formenton or XXX 2.0
Total Line 3: $6.95 m

Kelly .763
Gambrell/replacement .950
Motte 1.35
Total Line 4 $3.063 m

1st pair total $12.5 m

Sanderson .925

Does the $81.7m include Zaitsev? If so, when you add Chychrun are you also removing Zaitsev's $4.5m?
