We've seen two different versions of Norris:, the before version; and, the after version. It's tempting to see if the old version of Norris emerges after some more time. Maybe with more time under new coaches and confidence in his shoulder, he gets back to form ? I'm kind of torn on that issue.

if any player is traded in the summer. Take a look at their contracts and what the Sens may have to eat or the new team.

Either Michael A. or a receive team will have to eat anywhere from 2.4 M to 6 M.

You can just about add $300,000 if traded at the trade deadline. So some 2.7 M to 6.3 M.

you have never worked in a field that is broad have you????

I worked in sales for construction equipment... You have no idea what insiders are like.. In construction.. it is the concrete people.. Your MCONs. Foreterres, etc.

You have no idea how valuable city workers are. You have no idea how valuable conservation authority people are. and other central figures.. You have no idea how valuable estimators at construction companies are.. estimators at consulting firms.. and so on.

You need them, because it allows you to get info that is difficult to get on your own. That is Dreger and others..

How do you find out what Pinto is like in the locker room???? who will tell you? Who will tell you if he has a nagging injury?

all of this is info that is generally circulating within an organization and leaks out to a closed circle.. And so, it is info available to Dreger through his contacts and network.

Do you think this info is made available to a scout from Phili? to exec's from Phili??? Would some Sens Athletic therapist tell a Phili scout.. or does he tell a Dean Brown, who tells a Jamie Maclennan, who tells a Daren Dreger.

Phili calls Dreger and gets his opinion. And Dreger having watched tons of Sens games and discussed the Sens with other sources. Becomes a huge source of info and opinion.

He is professional enough to not cause trouble. But all he has to be is silent on some key question and Phili execs get it. So if he is asked about an injury, if he declines to answer... Phili has their answer.

trust me, I would be a millionaire now, if I had learned to schmooze and be generous.

I work in hockey. That’s not what insiders do

Lots of Chychrun trade threads on the main board now. I expect that to be incessant & the per usual waste of time.

Ideally the permanent coach gets this team playing "the right way". If the players don't come around your chart tells me that Staios has a deep hole to climb out of. It will be very costly to trade his way out of this problem.

its crazy we can get karlsson but he is like a bad word or something because melnyk and dorion of all people said so

so instead people are talking about thomas hertl and logan freaking couture

Karlsson won't do anything for this team. It's time to move on dude.

its funny because even at the ripe age of 33 he is still a possession monster.

he would have been our best d last year and this year, not only d but most likely best player.

we are weakest at rd, crippling weakness.

this team plays like they have no gameplan and no cockiness, karlsson best trait is that he is a gameplan player who is able to ice tilt.

but yea he can do nothing for this team.

By the time we're ready to seriously contend, Karlsson would be around 36-38.

Your obsession with Karlsson rivals your obsession with Brady.

It's funny that you always bash Brady for his defensive ability or lack thereof but would welcome back Karlsson who was and still is at times a seive on defence.

He's not what this team needs right now and certainly not at that price tag.

look at how bad Chabot and Chychrun are doing with big minutes and lots of injuries on bad teams.

Karlsson played with less talent with arguably worse injuries and he was still better than these guys.

Even Sanderson who is supposed to be our defensive stud is struggling.

also tell me a single time when karlsson was a sieve on defence when it mattered. a single playoff series.

and you're trying to draw parallels with brady's defensive ability lol.

What evidence do we have that DJ kept a tight room?
The team gets along and until this season always worked hard and gave an honest effort. You consistently hear about how it's a tight room. I know they do things as a team. Past players that have been on podcasts have confirmed it Del Zotto just did on chicklets. I have also golfed with some of the players and former players and know them.

What evidence do you have to suggest otherwise?

You should know very well just from watching this team that individual talent does not equate to success.

Karlsson on this team right now would just be a product of how they are playing. A single player won't fix a problem that runs deeper than single position on the ice.

Yea it takes a collection of individuals and Karlsson get us a lot closer than hertl or couture or Chabot and most everyone else on our roster.

Logan couture is an interesting name…if you really wanna shake things up, he’s a veteran with experience and could probably be had for Josh Norris ++

I mean Norris probably has negative value because of his contract
Not as much as Couture does. He's a decade older. The board may have no patience or understanding of injuries. But thankfully the gm actually played hockey and knows what it's like to come back from a major injury.

The sens are 4th last and people want to trade 24 year Olds for 34 year Olds. Wtf is going on.

It's not healthy. Post is bang on.

this is all a game that i have no direct input in so i promise you its not that serious that i have to watch whats healthy.

its just talking hockey.

if anything ask yourselves who is the one who actually gets offended when someone makes a criticism of brady or says that a generational d men would be better than hertl or couture.

like you guys actually get offended, thats whats unhealthy.

Josh Norris is on pace for 55 pts in an injury recovery year where everything is going about as poorly as possible and he clearly has his confidence rattled as much as anyone on the team.

With the number of off years this fanbase has witnessed only to have players bounce back it astounds me that we want to give up on a 2 way goal scoring C so easily. Reminder that this franchise has been plagued by a lack of centre depth for most of its existence.

Knee jerk reactions are not the answer.

55 pt pace playing flank on pp1 is actually horrendous in today's NHL but I agree on not trading norris yet. Didn't expect him to come back at his normal level. Hopefully he is able to grow his game. you're bang on its hard to grow right now when everything's being broken down mid season.

Can you blame us? A 36 year old is our best player lol

Anyways I’m not saying this is the best move but just spitballing a move that shakes up the core and brings in a vet (as reiterated by insiders so it’s worth discussing)

Bingo.... This "we will see who wants to be here and who goes", will cost serious coin.

But more troubling is, 16,000 asses in a 19,000 seat arena means loses... Now add the contracts.. and maybe Andlauer panics. And looks for a way to shed 5-10 M... So now, the Pinto rumour, Greig, Klevin, "Sanderson", "Zub".. all get put on the table.

And we are back in Eugene Melnyk territory.

Need to go after Guentzel in the summer
Would become our best C and a proven winner who learned from one of the best

As much as I am wondering WTH is going on with the team this year, and looking to move Norris or Chabot, it's pretty much the same team as last year. Is it possible that the new additions in Tarasenko and Kubalic are room dividers? The team should move those guys with the Sens eating salary in Kub, and possibly this may fix the room dynamic. Just grappling at straws before we send a lightning bolt through that room.
