If the Canadiens ever move Xhekaj, I wonder if Staios would go after him because of the Bulldogs connection.
He seems to be on the fringe of being an NHLer. He won't be waiver exempt forever, so it's possible that if they don't think he will get to the next level, maybe they try to "sell high" and get a decent asset for him. I could see him appealing to a team like San Jose, where he would more easily figure into the NHL lineup, and they might need someone to protect their many young stars.
He would be much more appealing if he could be an effective 4th line winger. It's entirely possible that he gets to the point where he is an effective bottom pair D, but if his bread and butter is going to be one of the few modern day enforcers, it's a lot easier to manage a player like that as a winger.
