If this had any legs at all it would be all over the media.. Its noise.
Lavoie is typically pretty reliable as far as this sort of thing goes.

This is a potentially developing story. Who's to say it's not all over the media going forward? It's obviously not something that's going to happen in the next 10 days, but it's not hard to see this being a huge story around draft time.

His NMC kicks in in 2025. If we don’t make the playoffs next year, Brady is definately gone.

He probably won’t request a trade without a destination in mind.

It always starts like this. Teams do their business quietly they don't want to broadcast this stuff. Knowing that Tkachuk is on the market would create a ton of distractions around the team.

I'm not saying it's 100% true but I wouldn't equate the fact that it's not all over the news to that's not true.

Goaltending was a big question mark, Forsberg was coming off a serious injury, and Korpisalo while coming off a career year has never consistently shown he could be a good starter.

There's no mystery despite Garrioch suggesting otherwise, Korpisalo hasn't pickup where he left off in LA because last year was a career outlier.
This year is also a career outlier. Just the other way. He probably ends up somewhere in the middle next year. Which isn't worth remotely close to 4 million. They have to buy him out these guys have 0 confidence in him.

That’s the question… I’m not sure I’d want to extend any longer than 4 years with an avg of 6.5M
The moment Saros loses a step he's gonna be out of the league he's too small. He has to be at his athletic peak to be good. The sens should stay away from anything long term with him.

They call themselves rumor Boys on Spitting Chicklets. They literally just make things up for clicks. Whitney just flat out admitted it on the Peter Mansbridge interview.

They do it multiple times an episode.
They’re pathetic. But maybe more pathetic is people fall for it and lose their sh*t in less than a second.

Is it though? It's not his worst in terms of QS% or goals above expected/60, he's been this bad before, the only difference is we continue to play him while other teams moved on to their other goalie.

You remind me of my old high school girlfriend who would lowkey drop that she might kill herself if I ever left her. Rest her soul.

I shall henceforth refer to you as 'Calamity Gil'.

Is anyone else tired of hearing about Trade deadline day? Still have to wait until March 8th.
Trade deadline day seems later this year than other years.

I just want to sell off everyone so I stop hearing people talk about the playoffs after we win a few games even though we're still in the basement of the standings.

You can tell us sens fans haven't had a good team in so long that we're way off on these things.

We win 4 out of 5 and all of a sudden every other poster is saying things like "if we could just go 25-4, we'll make it...I give it a 50-50"

Lol we're a loser team. A good 10 game sample won't change that.

Start cheering when we can have a winning full season.

Sooo….
If Norris is LTIR, what clever things can we do at the deadline?
$8 million in space to leverage for picks etc.

Need to make lemonade here people.

Well, it means we can retain on Tarasenko and take back a bad contract, same with Kubalik, maybe instead of paying to get rid of him, we can flip him for an even worse expiring contract to get a pick (technically he doesn;t need to be involved, we could just take the bad contract and a pick) we could also do a flip of Korpisalo for Campbell in a change of scenery you're headache for ours swap and hope for the best.

Korpisalo goals saved above expected:

15-16: 11
16-17: 1.09
17-18: -7.95
18-19: -10.11
19-20: -8.94
20-21: -18.06
21-22: -14.87
22-23: 16.72
23-14: -16.76

Two good years, one draw even year, and every other year he was horrible.
Man 4 of those years are like truly horrific lmao

Problem is there are what half a dozen top goalies, we’d likely end up with another Korpisalo.
There are half dozen top goalies but only one worst goalie. And we currently have him. So no don’t think weekend up with another korpisalo. I think the current management team can also scout better than f***ing Dorion

How did Dorion look at those stats and gleefully give him that monstrous contract
I think he just saw the the projected most expensive starter on the market and said that’s my guy. I’m not sure how much critical thought and analysis went into anything Dorion did. The fact that he was basically signed immediately tells me that there was barely a negotiation lol.

I know making the wrong move is worse than making no move but I think Staios has had enough time to get an idea of what's wrong with the team and what needs to be done to improve it.

He needs to start making moves. Expecting them to all be done on deadline day is unrealistic.

All of this tracks with Dorion's strategy of going out and getting guys clearly past their prime.

People who have been around long enough for Dorion to be familiar with their names, and available because other teams that have even done the slightest amount of due diligence will have stayed away from them.

Hardcore poolies do more comprehensive research than Pierre ever did.

Korpisalo never had a prime.
