maybe.. better depth on DPesce makes us a better team than Karlsson likely does.
Just sayin.'

Highly disagree, for this team. I could see the argument for Carolina that Pesce would be better for them.Pesce makes us a better team than Karlsson likely does.

I wanted to get rid Dumo and sign Pesce when their contracts came up last time. I'm convinced we win at least a round if we had Pesce instead of Dumo.maybe.. better depth on D
Good point, but man does this pursuit of him feel risky. I guess is SJ retains he gets easier to trade down the line.
They literally couldn't do DeAngelo and Karlsson. Who are they sending out to make up like 5.0/6.0 and cap for callups?
I think Pesce is a better all-around dman than anyone we already have. I watch a lot of Carolina and he's woefully underappreciated there.Highly disagree, for this team. I could see the argument for Carolina that Pesce would be better for them.
Why not? We just need to improve our goal differential, really. Doesn't matter if that's done through offense or defense.Highly disagree, for this team. I could see the argument for Carolina that Pesce would be better for them.

I think it's more likely than not that the Penguins aren't going to get the value out of Karlsson that they pay for him. If Karlsson can put up 65 points in 82 games, that's absolutely worth it. But how likely is that to happen? Outside of last year, he hasn't done that since 2017-2018. If he's giving you 40 points in 60 games while missing the remaining games, I don't think that's worth what the cost will be to acquire him.
But why do you do it? Because there is no one else that the Penguins can acquire that can impact the game like Karlsson can. Dubas is gambling that Karlsson can put up 65 points or better for at least 2 or 3 years. I think Karlsson is more risky than some fans think, but it's a risk that is 100% worth taking IMO.
Also from a fan's perspective, this team is boring as shit and I'd rather watch fun hockey over boring hockey.
DeAngelo is allegedly coming with significant salary retention.
Yes. Obviously it creates another hole. But value-wise, he was a steal and you fill out the rest of the D-corps based on Letang and Pesce.Pesce is a RD.
Trying to decide if this helps or hurts us for a playoff entry bid. He's not gonna be with Kane anymore and his AAV's gonna be huge.
I feel the same way about Graves as you do about Pesce. He seems super solid at 4.5M.Yes. Obviously it creates another hole. But value-wise, he was a steal and you fill out the rest of the D-corps based on Letang and Pesce.

Then why did his goal count drop by 14 when he left Kane?He carried Kane.

Both our attack and defense were near the middle of the league. Our D was worse actually.
He's a guy like Dumo, Kinda insanely underrated in their primes.I think Pesce is a better all-around dman than anyone we already have. I watch a lot of Carolina and he's woefully underappreciated there.
Hip resurfacing. It has a bad track record with athletes returning in good form.Patrick Kane is still a UFA right? He’s kinda cooked but he’s 35 and just entering his prime.
Yep. Even if he's only good for a year or two it's worth it cause after that who gives a f***? Big names will still plant butts in seats.Debrincat had 27g, 66pts in what was universally thought of as a pretty awful season for him. He's still a good, skilled player. Wouldn't be surprised to see him do really well with Larkin.
As for Karlsson; I don't see any risk. Era's coming to a close, playoff streak is done. The only thing left is to try and be entertaining as things wind down with Sid's career.
Once his sewn up hips are healed.Patrick Kane is still a UFA right? He’s kinda cooked but he’s about to turn 35 and enter his prime.
New team, randomness. It happens. Debrincats isolated analytics show that he was creating the offenseThen why did his goal count drop by 14 when he left Kane?
Kane's hip was f***ed this year. He needed surgery a long time ago. I wouldn't read too much into his output.
Is he even reliable? I can see the Canes getting EK, ADA, and maybe Hanafin/Lindholm. I can see Pens rocking this D next season for some reason.Looks like the Sharks guy is Corey Masisak who writes for the Athletic.
We should now have enough tissue on hand to Frankenstein a good 3c.
Depends on how many games he'd lose by himself. He's certainly capable of that too.Because for this team with how they’re constructed, I’d rather have the guy who can win games by himself than the steady eddy who always helps a bit but has a low ceiling
