Marino has a skill set that seems like a great fit for what jersey is building there. They must be ready to move on from severson since they went with nemec at second oa...

I think jersey could be a real threat. All comes down to whether vanacek gives them anything. It'd be hard for him to play worse than GOAT blackwood. But they'll be humming around a playoff spot at minimum imho

Who made up this narrative that Trocheck is fast lol
Fans are gonna be very disappointed, search Trocheck with the words fast or speed and you’ll just see a few posts from Ranger fans the past few days saying he’s fast lol no one talked about his speed before, except all the posts I’ve found complaining about how slow he’s become. Watch him on YouTube, he’s not fast at all.

I don’t think they want to rush Nemec into the league. How many 18 year olds have stepped in and played even semi decent? Doughty and Dahlin?

I don’t think anyone should trust you when it comes to judging a players speed.

I was honestly half expecting more KHL players to try their hand at crossing the pond with what’s going on in Russia. Doesn’t seem like that’s the case. A guy like Jensen who the Rangers had his rights a while back would have been a good gamble.

I still haven’t seen Milano signed. Or Steele. Did I miss that?

He doesn't have to be a speed skater to be effective. He's faster and quicker than either Strome or Copp and isn't afraid of contact. Gauthier is fast. How did he do last year?

I'm not saying he does, I think he's a good player but I see all these people talking about him as if he's Pavel Bure lol. Nobody talked about him being fast, and when they talked about his skating they said he's slow; until we signed him.
 
NJ can now make a great offer for JT Miller. Marino+Bratt/Holtz+1st gets it done I’d imagine
 
They cleared cap, added a recent 1st already putting up good numbers on an ELC, and a future third. It’s a good trade for Pittsburgh and allows them to do something else.

The $3,427,778 buyout money is off the books after this season. Buyout Goodrow. Free up $3,841,667.

Drury and Ryan Martin have to seriously consider a Goodrow buyout next June. Goodrow is a good player but the Rangers need the money for better players.

I wasn't suggesting he'd play this year lol, but the choices are either lock down severson multiple years and have three rhds under contract for the next four years or move on from severson when the season ends and have nemec slide in.
 
The thing I will remember Marino best for is the half-assed attempt at blocking Panarin’s shot on the OT in game 7 this past year. Its often overlooked but go watch the replay

I don’t think they lock down severson.

Easy minutes and pp2 time is the best way to transition him in. Playing D in this league is nearly impossible for most kids, no
Matter how good they are.

If Vanecek and Blackwood are even average they are going to be a borderline playoff team. Palat and Marino are very good additions and they gave up nothing important to acquire them. You are underestimating them if you don't think they are going to be much tougher next season.
