Holy overpayment. This isn't Gretzky they are trading forNJ can now make a great offer for JT Miller. Marino+Bratt/Holtz+1st gets it done I’d imagine

That’s alright. Even though it looks ripe for a buyout, some are still finding a way to call that contract part of Drury’s genius.
The Devils are gonna be really good sooner rather than later
at this point they probably have the best young talent pool in hockey and they have enough good pieces to at least be a playoff team
This move is a precursor for something else for Pitt. They just cleared not insignificant cap room.
Playing on a line with Panarin he’ll look pretty fast.Who made up this narrative that Trocheck is fast lol
Fans are gonna be very disappointed, search Trocheck with the words fast or speed and you’ll just see a few posts from Ranger fans the past few days saying he’s fast lol no one talked about his speed before, except all the posts I’ve found complaining about how slow he’s become. Watch him on YouTube, he’s not fast at all.
If Vanecek and Blackwood are even average they are going to be a borderline playoff team. Palat and Marino are very good additions and they gave up nothing important to acquire them. You are underestimating them if you don't think they are going to be much tougher next season.
It’s Jeff Petry. He’s being traded to Pitt
Probably Zucker and/or Kapenen, who will end up going to Winnipeg in the Dubois trade.Their success is going to come down to the health of Hughes and Hischer.
Neither have proven to be durable.
Now this is a good pick up for them.
Wonder what’s going the other way.
Petry and Poehling for Matheson and a 2023 4th.Their success is going to come down to the health of Hughes and Hischer.

when you finish bottom 10 for like 8 years in a row yeah you're gonna stock up some nice prospects. Doesn't mean they pan out. A year ago Ty Smith was a future #1 D lol. Hughes is an offensive star, Mercer will be a good player , but who knows about their D prospects. They look good now, but will they be stars? A few years ago we had the best prospect pool in the world. We got a Vezina winner and Norris winner out of it, to add to already elite players like Zib and Panarin. The Devils are gonna be really good sooner rather than later

He fits their core. All 34 and up lol. They'll easily make the playoffs and then lose in round 1 again. They're delusional from how we almost let them win round 1, they're not a contender.Penguins are old as f*** now lol. Petry is still very solid though.
NJ can now make a great offer for JT Miller. Marino+Bratt/Holtz+1st gets it done I’d imagine
Hopefully it keeps them from tanking againHow smart are you that you think Vanacek, Palat, and Marino are taking the Devils to new heights…
Who, specifically, said he was a speed demon?I'm not saying he does, I think he's a good player but I see all these people talking about him as if he's Pavel Bure lol. Nobody talked about him being fast, and when they talked about his skating they said he's slow; until we signed him.
The Rangers can remove the entire cap hit for 23-24 and 24-25. What does retention do for them? The Rangers will need the entire cap hit off their books. They also get credits in both years.Disgusting but true. Maybe he would accept a trade with some retention on our part as an alternative.
Countless posts man, I don’t want to call out people individually they’re probably just reciting what they heard and are excited about our signing. Even those fan blogs are calling him speedy, fast, etc. I’m not saying he’s a bad player at all, but watching highlights of him he hasn’t shown one bit of this supposed speedWho, specifically, said he was a speed demon?
Is he faster than Ryan Strome? Does he engage physically better than Ryan Strome does?Countless posts man, I don’t want to call out people individually they’re probably just reciting what they heard and are excited about our signing. Have fun dealing with that fan base. I see it is already happening. It'll just get worse
Are you lost?
The only bad year is 26-27.Goodrow's contract is structured weird. Makes me wonder if a buy-out after year 2 was on their minds when they drew it up.
Without buying out Goodrow, one of Chytil, Laf, Miller, Lindgren are definitely on the way out. Laf and Miller are very unlikely but one of the other two could be forced out. Even with buying out Goodrow it would be a tight fit to keep everyone but it's doable. The only bad year is 26-27.
With a Goodrow buyout, Kakko 2 year bridge deal at $2.4M and the $1M cap increase, the Rangers have nearly $23M in space for 23-24. $22,940,476. $83,500,000 cap.
The Rangers must and always have to have someone being bought out at a cost on the books. $3.4M comes off the books in 365 days. I can see it.Without buying out Goodrow, one of Chytil, Laf, Miller, Lindgren are definitely on the way out. Laf and Miller are very unlikely but the other two could be forced out. That's what happens when you continuously overpay for players. But in Goodrow's case with the way his contract is structured it doesn't really hurt the team at all outside of 2026.The Rangers must and always have to have someone being bought out at a cost on the books. $3.4M comes off the books in 365 days. Is that really the deal?Petry and Poehling for Matheson and a 2023 4th.
