Great choice. It's time Hockey Québec gets their shit straight and I feel like Thibault is a great choice for that.

Was actually hoping he'd come into Habs in a management role. But I feel like this gig he got will have a bigger impact.

Not to mention his resume will just be so much better when he eventually gets to the NHL.

Ikonen is 2nd on his team in assists, 3rd in points. He's got 9 pts in 11 games, he had 5 pts in 23 games last year. In his career he has 29 pts in 88 games. He's still only 22 and will be all year.

funny... hadn't realized that he's the same age as Ylonen... too bad we gave up on him, watch him have a stellar full healthy season, then make his way to an NHL roster in the next 1-2 years.

fighting through as much injury adversity as he has and managing to get back to being an impact player in a men's pro league at 22 is pretty impressive... still young enough to make some big strides if he's got thaat kind of drive and manages to stay healthy

there's been talk in the past that he doesn't have that kind of drive but you never know when or by how much someone will mature as they face difficulties. It will be interesting to see how he does and if the Habs keep tabs on him. I know some if they get dropped by a team would not want to sign with them but with all the Finns we have, perhaps he would understand. That said we'll see how things go first, just staying healthy all year would be a good start.

Injuries can be the type of "eye opening" event that permanently shift an athletes mindset... with the talent that was always there, if he carries over the mindset that got him through rehab & re-conditioning, he could have a high ceiling if he keeps it up.

Will be fun to watch if he does, regardless of where!

It's only 6 weeks into the season over there but color me shocked when I saw that Audette is 2nd in the KHL in goals, 1 back from the league leader and 3rd in the league in points. He killed it last year in Liiga, now the KHL, did not see that coming, was never a big fan of when he was with us.
Audette was good scorer in junior

That whole KHL team is weird.

Ojamaki was a 0.5 ppg guy in Finland and was 0.33 PPG last year in Sweden. Then he turns around and is going over 1 PPG in the KHL.
Aaltonen was around 0.55ppg last year and is now PPG.
Kemilainen went from 0.8 ppg in Liiga to 1 PPG in KHL.

The rest of the team is all below 0.5 ppg.

That's 4 ppg guys and then under 0.5 ppg.

They are the 22nd team out of 24.

that sucks, I know that's why he wanted to go back to Sweden to be close to her. I saw he was playing for Team Sweden at Euro Cup so he must be doing well enough over there despite what was going on. That had to be extremely tough.

Audette with 30 pts in 34 KHL games.
He would maybe produce at the same trend in the AHL. At 25 years old. This is not really impressive imo. Darren dietz is killing it in the KHL since 4/5 years and no NHL team are wiling to give him a try. Thats saying a lot about the KHL. I would say. AHL and KHL is closer than KHL vs NHL

Open space league IMO. Softer smaller players can show offensive skill more than the NHL. I agree but just thought I'd point out that he is doing well.

Drouin would be a star in the KHL

Agree and an older league. This is impressive when young guys can play into this league at 17 years old against men. Like romanov with the CSKA moscow. But thats it. Even the best scorer of the league I wouldnt give him a try. I mean, it’s depend, but rarely you will find a treasure in that league.

KHL to NHL... 30% production reduction factor? That's how it was with Radulov for the most part.

Pleckanec still leading Kladno in scoring, 5 goals 25 points in 29 games. Jagr is second with 7 goals 17 points. Danny Kristo is also on the team and has played 28 games with 3-4-7 totals.

Agostino and Nesterov are rocking the KHL right now. Agostino has 15-16 for 31 pts in 39 games and Nesterov 5-26 for 31 ptrs in 39 games

Hudon is doing what he does with 6 goals and 16 pts in 20 AHL games

Darren Dietz still putting up pretty good numbers in the KHL. I really had high hopes for this guy and wonder why he only played 13 NHL games (with 5 points).
