I think the KHL has had money problems and the quality of play has probably dropped. You have a combination of guys who are AHL stars who can play there, less physical guys who have an easier time, and random guys from other leagues.

I don't remember Dietz being unphysical, but he seems to be really taking to Kazakhstan, team captain and all. There has to be a reason no NHL team has given him a look, maybe he's clearly an AHL star with no NHL upside? He was almost certainly better than some of the many third pairing D MB brought in and let go.

Houde is doing well in the ECHL after being sent down, 13 pts in 7 games.

Ikonen having a career year, 1 pt away from the team lead.

after being one of the top scorers in the Swiss league last year, Andrighetto's had a big drop in production this year. Same goes for Nygren as his production is down after a good season last year. Yannick Weber is on the same team as Andrighetto.

Looks like the Kostitsyn brothers are out of hockey, I thought I saw that they were going to play in the Belarus league but not sure what happened there.

I saw a short clip of him the other day scoring a goal with some team with lots of ads on their jerseys. Now sports a beard and looks even smaller.
Because he is in the Swiss league

Did it though? Shaw was chastised repeatedly from what I recall, but time fly's. Marchand as well irked many but has compensating factors. White was alone in protecting the team more or less and needed a talking to and pick his spots better, but he was a decent player when he focused on playing hockey.
I liked White.
Also remembered for his accidental on purpose trip of Michel Therrien during practice. Dumped him pretty good.

An average second line center...lol

It's strange cause he was always the number one center with Finland at the Olympics and World Cup....he played with Selanne on his wing and Saku was always onenof the best player ...remember 2004 world cup....

He lost in final vs Canada...Lecavalier won the tournament MVP..and Saku..was.....runner up
Saku was on fire the year he blew out his knee against the Hawks. Never the same after that. Leveled off.
Best center the Habs have had in last twenty five years. Easy.

hey woah woah ... Brian Savage was always on track for a 50-goal season ... until Halloween

Don't forget the imfamous "Smurf Line" of Koivu, Petrov and the wrong Bure brother. It was like the Flyer's "Legion of Doom" line but just 75% of the size (and arguably skill)

ehhhh that post-Roy trade decade sure had some dark days.... dark days indeed .... :(
Then they made Smurf Line 2 with Gomez, Gionta and Cammy

This little item appeared during January but it somehow didn't make it here -- Desharnais may be looking to retire after this season.

Lots of great memes about David Desharnais, will probably be as big a legacy as how Michel Therrien deployed him.

We'll never forget Michel Therrien's penchant for certain diminutive players, like David Desharnais and Francis Bouillon, which led to one of the best loved gifs that this forum produced over the years.

He could probably help this year. Hire him as a coach.
One of the best pp in the league when he was around... One of the worse since... That one summer was so infuriating, Radulov, i mean, you make sure you lock him up period lol... That massive disrespect towards Markov, if only for his "dog-like" loyalty (i have a lot of respect for players that stay loyal to their team, Marky said he could never see himself in any other nhl team's jersey, and he never wore anther jersey), you give him that freaking contract, and he wasn't even bad at that point, to me that one was absolutely disgusting and disrespectful... I was mad
