Montour with the OT winner for the Panthers against the Leafs. Always sucks seeing guys we gave up on absolutely killing it on other teams.
He did not manage to figure it out in BUF as well. Sometimes you need a lot of things going in the right direction.

Worst Case, Ontario

Des with a decisive beat down of Watson, gets challenged by Kastelic and tries to square off a second time in one stoppage.

I kind of like Kastelic's game as a gritty young grinder but A) that's goof behavior going at a guy who just fought and B) he's still damn lucky the linesmen rescued him because even a tired Des would have fed him his lunch.

It’s almost like Anaheim is a tough place to be successful right now

Look at the roster and the coaching, especially on special teams. Not really shocked. Some of our kids have found some success but they can be doing even better with their skill in a better situation, imho.

Shocker, Klingberg is playing better with better talent. That’s not a diss on him, more on us. Not even Victor Hedman could save this defense and make something out of it. Glad to see him thrive away from here.

Klingberg has also righted his game before he left. @Ducks DVM has highlighted Klingberg's improvement and Klingberg also identified it around Christmas time. In Klingberg's last 9 games as a Ducks, he scored 9 points and was a +0.

Sam Steel has apparently been scratched 16 times since February 11. 10 goals and 28 points for the season. It wasn’t Eakins
Some people around here have said he wasn't the nicest guy to be around, might've even been curt with staff and people around the team. tough to feel bad for him if that was the case.

The Flames needed to win a shootout to keep their playoff hopes alive, so who did they send out in the 3rd round to try and seal the win? Not Elias Lindholm, Tyler Toffoli, or Andrew Mangiapane. It was Nick Ritchie. Saros made the save and the Preds ended up winning.
I think Sutter was ready to call it quits. Didn’t have another run left in him.

I don't have that much objection to his usage late in his stint here. I have a problem (and that's on management more than on Eakins I believe) with his management in his first few years here. It felt like we sucked all of his confidence and creativity out to play on the bottom 6 with meh linemates when it was so painfully obvious he'd benefit from the increased role in the AHL. Rakell looked meh until we sent him up and down until he established his confidence and became a top-6 player. I don't know if that would be the case with Steel, it did feel to me like we gave Sam the short end of the stick.

Gotta love Sutter, probably had a witty answer to question why as well.

Toffoli probably wasn't intense enough, or some stupid shit like that.

It’s pretty weird. Toffoli won a cup with Sutter in 2014 and is kind of known as one of “his guys” I’m pretty sure. He’s also having a phenomenal season.

I think Sutter was a great coach for a long time and probably a HHOFer but it’s time to go
