People need to realize that this isn’t about how the NYR are playing right now.
Take a step back and see the overall picture
Expect big time games from Eric Lindros, Mikael Renberg, and John Leclair
While Buch has been extremely disappointing I do agree with the notion that he shouldn't be out of the lineup before Howden.
If Buch "needs to play better" then what the **** does Howden need to do?
The one thing I dont get... Chytil has for the past 2 games, used the boards and his speed to come down the right wing and score.. Why move him to the left?
This is assuming the practice lines are what we will get.
Same old shit with this team.Because playing like garbage is ok as long as you look like you're trying really hard.
Or something.
Same old **** with this team.
Gorton talks about his "character" approach. It's been character > skill for 80 years with this team. That's why they never win Cups and they never have talent.
Playoffs!?

LOL you said transition... did you mean ice the puck or shoot it off the boards? To cut right in transition territory.

Wait wait wait...Staal is being paired with Pionk again? I don’t mind them both playing, but that pair obviously hasn’t worked.pssst...... listen.... coach quinn is smarter than all of us guys.
bench buchnevich after 10 days off. so smart.
tell the press "he needs to play better"..... then the press and all of us all say, "yeah but um.... you have been off for 10 days" .....so how did he play bad or um....." ???
yet howden plays (same numbers as buch btw just way worse 5v5) and staal and pionk....
brilliant. what a mind. wonder if quinn writes poetry ? were not worthy.
i bet quinn likes the smell of napalm in the morning too.
But we still have no idea about the ADA situation. With Buchnevich, I defended him almost as much as ADA, but this is now the 3rd season where we see the same old crap from him. I gave him the benefit of the doubt in his first 2 seasons, but with AV gone, there’s no excuse anymore. I’m sick of excuse after excuse. The same with a Shattenkirk. He was injured? Ok, fine. But then he still played like crap after that, which is when I realized that maybe he isn’t such a great player after all, and that the injury was maybe an excuse. But with ADA, we still don’t know for sure. The Buchnevich thing is going to turn into a carbon ****ing copy of the DeAngelo argument.
Clearly, Quinn places a heavy emphasis on doing the things that are asked of you, and working to correct the mistakes the coaches identify. And if during games, and during practice, you're still doing the same stupid **** over and over and over, he's not going to play you. End of story. Add in the fact that he's trying to build a foundation a oversee a team in transition, and I don't think he cares if holding a guy out isn't what is best for the actual on-ice product. This is the non-insane "The Process" that we're abiding by.
DeAngelo seemed to respond. When he got back in the lineup he was better than he had ever been, IMO. Either Buch responds (I don't think he's a guy who will respond to this) or he can go bye-bye.

Thought this was funny..

I get why Buchnevich is healthy scratched. Very little effort, sleeping half the time, not much physicality, etc. I still think he should play despite all of that, because we have nothing to lose, but at least there’s a reason. My philosophy is to play talented players (unless they do something very dumb or horrific), even when they don’t do everything asked of them. But I guess that’s why I’m not the coach. I don’t know where I was going with this, but I guess I agree with most of what you’re saying.
Asking Buchnevich to be Vesey Howden or Strome is dumb... His play style isnt as hard nose as those guys so our Boston guy coach sees that as not working hard enough.
