Announcing crew for ABC thinks the ref pointing to the center dot means he's calling a penalty on Erik Karlsson. Brilliant!

Seems like an excellent trade for Florida, I think Jones will do very well for them. I said at the end of the finals last year I predicted Florida to go to the finals a third straight year (of course I didn’t think the Caps would be this good haha), and honestly that still very much feels like a possibility, depending on Tkachuk’s injury.

Yep. Tanking is for losers
They let so many solid young players go. They do have a solid prospect pool but over the last 5ish years they’ve gotten rid of DeBrincat, Strome, Dach, Hagel and now Jones who they arguably wasted a lot of his “prime” years as a solid defenseman. They let Kane walk and they traded Panarin at one point for Saad++. Just crazy

That’s pretty rough for Jack Hughes. Looks like it could be yet another shoulder injury for him.

Don’t look now, but the surging Jackets are only 4 pts out of 3rd, w/ 2 games in hand.

The East does appear wide open. I really hope GMCP is kicking the tires on a meaningful forward upgrade.

Tough luck for Jack Hughes.

What a silver lining for the Canes. For a long time they were destined to face a tough Devils match-up in R1 and right now Devils are complete crap against other Playoff teams and without their best player. Does this push Canes towards keeping Rantanen as a rental even if he doesn't want to stay there long-term?

The Canes might have to trade their rental already.
It could be a wide open field
Read an interesting contrarian article this weekend about Canes playing 4D chess. That they Rantennan for a playoff run. Sure goal is to re-sign him, but they are playing for a cup this year. In short, they don’t expect Canes to trade him.
