If Ottawa is smart, it’s Konecny. Then they have to re-sign him but he is familiar with the area obviously. If it’s Chychrun for Konecny, the Flyers may take some crap on the surface, but they’ll be adding another really good piece to that blue line.
Actually, Chychrun for Konecny makes a bit of sense. Similar ages and performances and both address a need.

My only hesitancy is that if Ottawa trades Chychrun for a forward, their biggest need instantly becomes a 2nd pairing RD.

Unless...you guys want Karlsson back :naughty:

It's pretty much been decided that Chychrun isn't staying and the team never really liked him on the right side, which is why they seem to be pushing hard for Tanev this summer (would require a massive overpay to get him in Ottawa).

Sens fans gonna be devastated when it's laughton and 12 for 7

Ottawa would have to add 7 to Chychrun to get TK

Konecny is a year away from UFA and will want a big raise. Without an extension - why are the Sens even remotely interested exactly? They just make this exact mistake with DeBrincat and Chychrun. The Sens need players with years left on the deals - not rentals that cost too much.

I don't think so now, just because our prospect pool is so bare. If we didn't spend the last three years throwing 1st round picks away, probably.

What's the likelihood of him re-signing in Philly looking like?

Probably 100%. There were rumors he was already looking to talk when it was allowed.

The only scenario I can see Philly trading Konecny is if he's not re-signing in Philly.

And if he's being traded as someone with only one year on his contract, he's not getting 7th+Chychrun.

Well, he'd be more than happy to sign in Philly--it's whether they're willing to sign him to an amount he's happy with.

Would love TK on Ottawa, but as others have pointed out he only has 1 year left and Ottawa is all too familiar with that situation.

I’d be fine adding Laughton but wouldn’t want to give up much for him. I feel like Philly fans value him much more than I do.

Scott Laughton was the first person that came to mind.

Fits the mold of player sens GM said he would go after

“Not sure the entirety of the deal just yet - but believe the #LetsGoFlyers are acquiring a defenseman from Ottawa. More than one asset going the other way on the Flyers end. “

"A defenseman is involved but not the def everyone thinks"
