The "goal" that wasn't is a gift to the Leafs fans. It gives them yet another excuse to believe that the world is against them and that it isn't their team's managerial ineptitude and their players' inability to play playoff hockey that keeps them in the category of pretenders.

I think this is probably the insightful post on the matter that I've seen yet.

Then call it goalie interference and allow us to challenge it. Garbage call. You'd be pissed if it was your team too. But carry on like you wouldn't. Please.
Seemed like right call to me.... either way leafs tied it up and had a chance to win and didnt.

Should be more mad about the 40 million 4some that doesnt do much of anyting.

Hey Folks,

Can we please try and refrain from the personal attacks, I understand emotions are high but debate the post not the poster or fans.

Thanks! :)
dang you are abusive on the cup forums too... i thought that was just a ducks board thing

The Leafs should fire the GM and coach. When the Leafs scored in the third to keep their razor thin hopes alive (down 3 - 1 in the series), the camera pans to those two douchebags, and the douche chills are on full display. They're hanging on to the series by a thread, and the stylish glasses GM is so excited with his rich friends he practically creams his shorts, and the steakhead coach with the creepy block head wants to jump on the ice so bad and lift weights. They jump around like giddy schoolgirls and hug and get all juiced and scream and shit. But the game is tied the game at 2 - 2, and they're down 3 - 1. They didn't win anything yet. Just one series. One series.

Of course they go on to lose in OT because they're getting outplayed in the game, outplayed in the entire series by a team that doesn't have super talented guys with silky hands and inflated egos. They have a legitimate coach, Barkov, Ekblad, Varhege, Gudas. Guys with genuine testicles.

Toronto players, fans and management all act like they deserve to win the Cup (because they're douchebags), and when they fail over and over again, it brings us all such joy.
It's pathetic the Laffs didn't win TBH and I hate that whole, entire organization. It's like the curse of Ballard is lodged upon them. One playoff series victory in almost 30 years is laughable. Blow it up and rebuild as those assclowns have no heart when it counts.

Its clear as day.

Where BTP lives.

Always a controversial moment to point to for Leaf fans. Enforces the narrative that their roster is just not capable of stepping on a series. Glad the boys got their extra bud light cases for the first round parade though
Leafs should be going for their 6th straight cup right now... if it wasnt for the dang refs and league conspiring against them the last 5+ years.

unfortunate.

You mean allow the people in Toronto to give the Leafs another favorable call.....I see. Justice was served. No goal.

Toronto is a good team, so many good teams never get their Cups - Prongers Blues, Alfie’s Sens, Luongos Canucks.

Might just be one of those teams we don’t appreacite until all the players are retired

Agreed. They're perhaps they best 8 seed ever. They underachieved most of the season. From the deadline on they played like the team they were last year, from a w-l perspective. They're not the:

2010 Canadiens
1991 Stars

etc.

They kind of remind me of the 2012 post season Kings.

Flag on the play on that list.

How many of those teams made it past the second round and made it to the finals.

I am at the cabin so I did not watch the game. Can someone update me on the really important part of the game - how did Toronto look in the handshake line?
Very composed and experienced. If theres one thing JT is good at, it’s leading his team in the handshake line. Intangibles I suppose, one of the things you just cant teach.
