Congrats Panthers fans, well deserved series win. When you play with that kind of effort good things tend to happen, best of luck the rest of the way. Your team has heart and a true competitive nature that you need to make a run for the cup.

Very down about the Leafs right now, not even sure what we do with this team at this point. Gonna be a long ass summer.:(

Appreciate that, maybe some of the other loud Leafs fans can do the same?

The ones that mocked Panthers fans for saying Florida is better than Toronto dating back to last year?

They know who they are.

Looking at that leaf roster just burn everything
Fire Shanahan
Fire the nerd
Fire the flip a coin coach

Send Justin Holl to the next spaceX launch
Put Giordano into a retirement home
Just throw all those forwards depth going UFA into the recycle bin.
get rid of Kerfoot , he's probably 1 of the most vanilla player ive seen playing with the leafs
Trade Marner and Matthews , they are not worth another 8 year deals.
Try to find a ticket for Tavares to Robidas island.

It's a bitter pill to swallow, but it is what it is. I was dead wrong about Florida, these guys are true competitors. A lot of players in the league, not so many competitors.

The positive I can take out of this series is now knowing how far a high compete level, grit, determination can really take you. And how quick a shitty soft entitled mindset can sink you, regardless of how much skill you have. Florida absolutely hit a home run with the Tkachuk trade, Leafs need to make their version of that move going into next-season now. Moved a core winger who was soft and wasn't getting it done, massive culture shift in the locker room and that shit is infectious.

Quicker than all this: relocate the team to Quebec. Or if this is still too close to the intergalactic mega empire of losing called Toronto, relocate somewhere far away. Puerto Rico maybe? The San Juan Hoyas de Arce. Rad. LOL

This is dedicated to all those Leafs fans (example: @SwissLeaf) who came into the FLA BOS post-series thread just to rub salt in the wound to Bruins fans. Karma is a b****, boys!

This isn't the flex you think it is. You've been doing this for the past 5+ years btw lol

Do Florida have a chance at a very good hurricanes team ? Winner here winns the cup . Think Carolina winns 4-1 or 4-2

I still have the Stars taking it all, they are a very well balanced team. Vets/Younger players and elite talent spread throughout the roster, if fully healthy I think Carolina over Dallas in 7, but with their injuries I'll say Stars are taking it.

you’re obviously a huge fan and clearly love the team, I appreciate this post on many levels. A few of us were thinking it was time to move on from Huberdeau even though he’s loved here. My buddies and I could tell he just didn’t have what it it takes in the playoffs and him with Barkov likely wasn’t going to get it done. The fact that Zito saw it and jumped when he heard Tkachuk was available was somewhat mind blowing last summer. Didn’t expect to lose Huby and Weegar at once. Tkachuk has made a huge impact since day 1.

Perhaps the next GM/Dubas can make a similar move with the Leafs. Not sure for who, but there’s clearly elite talent in that team. Tampa got swept, made changes, we know the results. Colorado added pieces, too.

It’s fun to hate on the Leafs, but there aren’t a lot of pro sports teams that have the rabid loyalty they do. Some make it easy to cheer against them, but there’s enough fans that make you want to bite you tongue on the vitriol.

Sooooooo… Am I in the Crayola-thread with all the kindergarten in white and blue again ?

I don’t see those charts and all, maybe some are missing their pencils… I can buy you a new box of Crayolas no problem, since you all love colors…

Oh… Oh no… It’s not the Crayola-thread anymore…

It’s the "Zebras go Vanilla on our Vanilla team in regular season, so we don’t understand what adversity is when playoffs are coming, and are only left crying to the refs" thread.

I’ve said it for years, and I’ll say it again… As long as that Leafs team don’t understand that they are being gift-wrapped games by the zebras in the regular season, they won’t face/understand adversity, and they won’t succeed in the playoffs, they’ll just whine like crybabies to the refs… Playoffs is a different animal, their core just isn’t built for it !

I used to love Morgan Rielly… He was the epitome of that in this series… Always complaining, whining at the refs and all… The only time he actually really PLAYED, he thought he had a goal and yet Hockey Gods just told him to shut up… Karma is really a bitch.

WE WANT FLORIDA !! WE WANT FLORIDA !!!

Yeah there needs to be a serious shakeup, everyone should be on the table at this point. I'd personally hold on to Nylander, as he was the only core forward who played with guts and actually showed up every night. I'm torn between moving Dubas or not. It was his mistakes as a rookie gm that ultimately led to the Leafs being the failure they currently are. Since then though he's made some phenomenal moves/trades. Then again it still wasn't enough, it's just such a tough spot to be in. He gave the keys to the city to these guys as a rookie and this is what we get.

Only thing that is for certain though is that we cannot just run it back. Reason I single out Marner is his lack of effort and level of entitlement. He plays a soft game, doesn't show up when you need it and it's just not the right mindset for the playoffs. I can't imagine seeing Bennett or Tkachuk smile and laugh after being punched in the face, ridiculous. I don't think there's a player like Tkachuk available for trade but we gotta start exploring options, this current formula has not worked.

Of course they have a chance, but it will be our toughest test yet. Boston had a historic season, but Carolina is rolling right now. Both Florida and Carolina are terrific forechecking teams, but Carolina's blueline just controls games. My head says Carolina in 6, but that's why they play the games.

Hell of a game from Woll! The kid stepped up big time in a pressure cooker situation.
The core 4 minus Nylander should have been inspired by that effort but once again came up flat. You don’t win a series when you score 2 goals every game. People thought the goaltending and D would be the Leaf’s weakness but it was the offense that let them down. Zero goals from Matthews and Tavares in the series and one from Marner. That’s one goal for $32 million dollars. A major shakeup is needed in the core players at this point.
