Amazing how quickly Leafs fans are forgetting the missed high stick in the clinching game against Tampa.
It went over the line when bob was getting up after the play had been blown dead. If the whistle came later the puck still wouldn't have gone in until the whistle had already been blownIt went over the line but the ref said they blew it dead so the goal didn't count. I think it was an early whistle and a goal, but since the ref blew it dead no goal. Point for the lightning scored an even more obvious goal that the leafs benefited from being taken off the board. Points goal was less controversial but leafs fans were happy to have the early whistle then.
Did you notice what happened 3 sec before, first rielly gave pass to gudas and then both acciary and rielly outplayed themselfs.Florida was better when it mattered to get things done, and I would have thought the Leafs would have taken a commanding lead during their home games, and they failed to do so.
I can't however help but feel somewhat frustrated over that stick-holding by Gudas at the end.
Might have still been a goal, but that was just ugly.
have a look at the interactions on Leafs related posts compared to all other posts. Everybody gives a shit about the Leafs, even more than their own team most of the time.No one gives a shit about the Leafs. Once you weed through all their condescending, immature, whining, crying, classless, woe is me little crybabies, maybeeeee you feel for the real fans…..![]()
There's something to be said about learning how to deal with adversity, which is what you need to know how to handle come playoff time. The Panthers have been playing with desperation since January. They didn't have to flip any switch. In fact they went through the same thing last year. Coasted through the regular season by scoring tons of goals, strolled into the first round vs Washington and almost lost the series if Hathaway had buried an empty netter. Only won because of Bob's play and Verhaeghe's insane performances. Then continued to casually stroll into the 2nd round and got obliterated by Tampa. All I can say by what I am seeing watching the Bruins, Oilers and Leafs is that it seems easier when you enter the playoffs as the underdog and it's harder when you are seen as the most skilled team with top guys supposed to be dominating. I don't know why. Maybe psychologically you take things for granted, you think it's gonna be easy whereas when you make the playoffs by the seat of your pants, esp. if you face a top team, you are gonna give your all to climb that mountain. Leafs defeated Tampa cause they were their mountain. Then returned to their old habits.
They showed Gudas during the handshakes taking a few extra seconds to talk to Woll. Looked amicable enough.I bet that Woll was talking smack to Florida's players this series, and that is why Gudas yelled in Woll's face after the series-winner was scored.
It would not surprise me, because many of Toronto's players arrive at the NHL and talk smack immediately even though they are rookies that haven't proved anything.
Bunting and Knies have a long list of incidents of talking smack to the media, and it has caused me to dislike these players.
Woll, did he do the same? And therefore deserved Gudas to rub the loss in his face?
That’s one way to clear the lane. Can you more blatantly grab a stick?
Where’s your same energy when tkachuk was tripped earlier in OT which prevented a premium scoring chance for the panthers?
Do you have any links to it as I don't recall it. Lots of penalties pointed out with 0 evidence it seems.
On the flip side:
Where was your same energy when the Florida player does this near the end of the third with no call?
Samsonov is 4-4 in this playoffs
Woll is 1-2.
Samsonov did nothing against Florida to suggest he would have been a difference maker.
I thought Woll let in a few bad goals.
The OT winner in Game 3 was pretty bad for a goalie. He had no idea where the puck was and covered neither post.
The Ekblad goal this game was pretty bad. He got a glove on it and missed? Even the 2 on 1 goal hit his foot and went in, Samsonov had stopped quite a few of those this series alone.
I think Woll might be the goalie of the future, but he's not there yet. Of course if Samsonov was healthy he starts. Samsonov eliminated Tampa, not Woll.
& how many games Samsonov win against Florida?
Why didn’t your boy genius 4M project play in net?
Nobody forced you to play Woll and Samsonov won zero games against Florida.
But I guess whatever helps you sleep
Samsonov was shutting out Florida in Game 3 when he got injured. Woll came in and allowed a goal right away for Florida to tie it.
