But then you can't absolve him of it by saying it wasn't his fault.
I missed the majority of this game so I don’t know how those goals looked.

You can say he had a bad game, but that’s never what you do. You try to rip him to shreds and consistently say his career is over. You then start a million threads on the main boards for everyone on HF to circlejerk about how much Lundqvist sucks.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable though. I feel like people get pretty heated on this board when discussing every player they're upset with. I guess I don't understand why when I do it with Lundqvist it's a bigger deal. Hell, I JUST went off on Holden and no one said anything. And if you read my Holden post it was much more negative. I'm not trying to be overly negative and despite what people clearly think (and I've been told this and found it quite insulting) I'm not trying to troll. I'm just frustrated with the result and I think Lundqvist played a role in it. It's especially disappointing with how well he's been playing (of course I prefer that to him not playing well lately).

to me the difference is that hank deserves consideration he wins more games with his play than he loses so hes a net positive

holden by his play never outright steals a game so when his bad play loses one its a net negative

seems pretty obvious to me

Anyway, I'm done discussing Lundqvist but I'm still incredibly pissed at Holden. Just don't do something stupid for 1 minute you moron. I don't know if our D is not ready or Gorton didn't do a good enough job improving our D (outside of Shattenkirk and Girardi) or it's the system, but our D is just awful.

That was disheartening. The team seemed out of sync for a good part of the game -- but there were some standout individual performances. I was very pleased with CK (obvious), Buch (showed toughness as well as skill), Miller (some nice plays) and Shattenkirk (more of the same). Goaltending was suspect. Smith was an abomination (more of the same).

Can't wait to see Z and McD (in good form) back.

Look @SnowblindNYR Deep down I do like you. I still remember when the 2 of us were defending Hank tooth & nails on the mainboards a couple of years back. Now that was some ugly business

Go ahead and critic Hank all you want. Heck, I myself was screaming at him after the 3rd goal but when you come in guns blazing and declaring him a sieve or that he is done after 2 unlucky goals and 1 arguably bad goal when he has played some great hockey for almost a whole month is just inflamatory.

The problem is that you will claim he’s washed up the second he has a bad game and nevesis will claim every goal Lundqvist gives up is a laser and unstoppable. You are both on the complete opposite side of the spectrum and it’s annoying af.

Don't lump me in with him. f*** outta here with that.

Can't complain too much, though to be fair Florida was on the 2nd of a back-to-back, but eh.

Rangers played fine, I though Smith-Holden played great until the final 2 minutes. Just a dumb, forced play from Smith and Holden. Hank needed to have the 3rd goal. Staal and Kampfer are just such liabilities though, McDonagh replacing one of them is obvious, but another solid defenseman would be great.

Well this is a pattern with him in his career. He improved on it somewhat in his 11-12 season and thereabout but he just ends up having some of the worst games of his career after great games or stretches. It's frustrating. It used to be that it didn't happen this quickly though.
Now you’re commenting on his career apparently that he’s inconsistent bc he has a bad game every now and then?

You realize that Henrik has had literally one of the longest stretches of peak eliteness for any goalie in the modern era right? Guy went 11 years straight being a top 5 goalie. He went 9 seasons before he finished outside of the top 6 in vezina voting. Do you know how unprecedented that is?

If you’re complaining about anything to do with consistency or reliability over Henrik Lundqvist’s entire career you’re just being absolutely ridiculous.

Very disappointing game, but it's a long, long season. The team is clearly headed in the right direction. Put the loss behind us and look to Friday.

Lundqvist I mean not even worth discussing tonight. He no showed the goals were horrific

But how many times is Holden going to cost us a game in the last min before this coach decides enough is enough. He was so bad tonight and just flat out careless with his head down on 2 goals. A minute left and you make that play? Unacceptable. If DeAngelo had a game like that he’d have been sent to the ECHL not the AHL.

I am sick over that loss. A minute left and you make that play? Then you totally screen your goalie. And that’s after the horrid game he already played? I’d be livid at him if I were a teammate. Totally screwed everyone in that room that worked so hard.

Isles Columbus win. Carolina a point. Total nightmare tonight.

Just watched the replay of the game winner and Smith was DEAD from the Pysyk shot. He had a quick turnover in the middle of the ice, but it almost seemed like more a pick-pocket.

Holden, however, was awful.

Big picture, yeah you're right. But is there no room to critique his play on a micro-level? You can do the same with Roy, Brodeur, and Hasek. Once again, the better the player the more critical you have to be with him. If you have two children, one is slow, and one's a genius. Who will you be harder on for a B?

Pens & Caps at wildcard spots with 29 pts. - it will be an interesting race to the end. :)

I think i bring i some sight of the Game from outside.

But in my Mind, no Team really won in the Game beside the end of the result.
When the rangers want something to complain about i would say Henry. The same count for our D, who lost more then one time sight of the Man they should be with.

As our Coach said, and its the truth. We had many nights where we play great and lost the Game on personal mistakes. Tonight counts that for Henry. The most Panthers Fan on your GDT say, we was out played 3 periodes. Wouldnt it be reimer making some sick saves, the Game would be tieing earlier.

The Game was a Thriller for the Heart, the Head and the Bloospressure when you look on some replays.

The race will get interesting once we start playing more Metro teams.

In fact, our next four games are all Metro games.

He had a good stretch last year also though. Then after that he reverted back and had a poor year in the end. I'm worried that will happen again.

For what it's worth I'm the (self-declared) goaltending expert around here and thought the goals amounted to two tricky deflections and a snipe.
