as an Isles fan I see plenty of inconsistent goaltending we never know from night to night what we're gonna get, at least with hank you know your gonna get a consistent effort and 9 times out of 10 he'll either win you the game or at least not lose it.

you literally have to look for a way to criticize him

I literally watch ranger games just to watch him

He had a good stretch last year also though. Then after that he reverted back and had a poor year in the end. I'm worried that will happen again.

My advice is to just expect it. Boom, no longer worried AND you'll enjoy the highs more.

The race will get interesting once we start playing more Metro teams.

In fact, our next four games are all Metro games.

Yeah, our next three games will be crucial for us at least Ryan Mc. is back and should be ready on Friday - Ryan Mc. have two days 48 hours rest and training. First Car, then PIT next week on tuesday and Caps next friday.

Lundqvist I mean not even worth discussing tonight. He no showed the goals were horrific

But how many times is Holden going to cost us a game in the last min before this coach decides enough is enough. He was so bad tonight and just flat out careless with his head down on 2 goals. A minute left and you make that play? Unacceptable. If DeAngelo had a game like that he’d have been sent to the ECHL not the AHL.

I am sick over that loss. A minute left and you make that play? Then you totally screen your goalie. And that’s after the horrid game he already played? I’d be livid at him if I were a teammate. Totally screwed everyone in that room that worked so hard.

Isles Columbus win. Carolina a point. Total nightmare tonight.

Terrible analysis on Lundqvist (as usual)

1st goal was a fluke deflection.

2nd was a brutal turnover by Holden, and a top shelf snipe, uncontested from the hash marks.

The 3rd goal was soft, and I thought he should have had.

No showed all three goals, and horrific? Just the 3rd one.

Agreed with the analysis on Holden. Absolute train wreck.

Yes he did but the difference is that last year even when he played great he didnt look like he was in control. He was all over the ice. This season he is much calmer, his movements and positioning are sund. He even challenges shooters in a way he never did last year.

The fundamentals are where it needs to be. Wich is why I dont worry about him like I did last season. Now the amount of games he is playing is somewhat worrying and tonight could have been him being unfocused a bit because of fatigue. This was his 13th consecutive start.

Horrible play by Holden in the last minute. We really needed and deserved at least a point out of a game that we dominated on home ice. This game is only behind the Pittsburgh fiasco as far as tough losses this year. The thing that bothers me is that they needed these points on home ice because they are going to start playing a shit ton of road games pretty soon.

This just shows that you can't win a game without a 60 minute effort yes we tied it up and the Holden Smith pairing is hot Garbage but we put ourselves behind the 8ball early and we can't continue to win games doing that as tonight has shown.

Dont fool yourself! You are slowly acclimatizing yourself to the Rangers for when the Islanders move to Quebec :naughty:

There was no snipe. His form was horrible on that second goal not square at all

First goal he put it in himself

Third goal Haley of all people beat him with a crap shot. Didn’t deflect

He got lucky right before the 2nd goal too puck got behind him and he luckily batted it away. He was awful let’s just call it what it is.

However the team dominated tied the game and all they had to do was be smart with a minute left and Holden as usual can’t get it done. He’s cost us how many games late? Hate this guy I really do. Always has his head down and has no problem throwing pucks up the middle. Prob did it two other times tonight and got away with it. I’m amazed at that play just amazed an nhl dman would carelessly throw that puck with a min left tied. Minute away from a point. There’s no way he should be dressed for the next game. Be accountable

That and I would not be putting that pairing out in a dzone start with about minute left on the clock

im not calling anyone out reg, but it is true, he's the best goalie of our life time and I go back to Worsley and Giacomin as a young at that time ranger fan, I only left because of gulf and western, I hated the ratelle park deal and the constant turnover
niddleton for hodge was the last straw

He said in an interview two days ago, it's not physical fatigue that is the issue, only mental, AND that only gets to him very, very late in the playoffs.

Plus, they've been winning, you don't get mentally fatigued when the team is winning and you're playing well. He didn't have a bad game tonight, only the 3rd goal was bad.

It was just one of those games where you blink and you're down 3-0. It happens all over the NHL, all the time.

I’ve said this a bunch on here but I’ll repeat it, last season even in his good stretches he never looked like himself. He was always scrambling and seemed to always be fighting the puck and was always have a hard time tracking the puck. He was losing his net often and just always seemed a second behind.

This season he’s looked like himself again. Right form, good movements, tracking the puck well and in good positioning.

That’s why sometimes you need to watch and not just go by the stats. The process is important. Sure he had some good stretches last year, but it always felt like the other shoe was gonna drop.

This year it doesn’t feel that way. Watching him the last month he’s looked better than at any point last season and it feels like he’s back to being his normal self.

Kreider - DD - Buch had 9 pts total - and 3 pts each with best game of the season for all 3 players. And we still lost thx. to -2 Smith & Holden - do not use the words bad `team effort` in this evaluation - we lost points because of stupidity by our D pairing in less than 10 seconds in the last minutes of 3rd.

Anyway M. Grabner had an off night - he barely had 12 min. TOI even though he hit the post like Nash, and we need to finish better - we had too many grade A chances to lose points in this game. I just hope Grabner is not injured - he did not get much PK time which was strange.

I do agree that his movement and balance look miles better this year than last. Absolutely they do. What I think some fans need to get used to, however, is the idea of him getting beat cleanly by less than elite shooters. And deflections sneaking past him. The body reacts slower as you get older. At the NHL level even milliseconds matter. We're seeing this with him now.

Sorry to hear about your dad. And for what its worth, I hope you "fishsticks" stay in NY.

thank you. I want the rivalry back wher we're both fighting for cups again

even when messier beat us I still rooted for richter against vancouver too many old friends in the blue seats were still my friends...even if they did tease me as a traitor

but I just couldnt take G&W tearing apart the team I loved so I took my route money and bought a pass for the new islanders

at the time the only player i hated leaving was vickers,
