you know whats funny my mom still has a picture of me at like 4 years old wearing a GREEN RANGERS nappy, they must have given them out on st Pattys day or something like that

In the end the NHL is a league, hockey is a sport. We love hockey. If every professional league in the world disappeared , there would still be people shooting pucks into right side turned garbage cans. I can appreciate the change after a death given the father son tie to this great game. Anyway, night man.

I'm all for poopooing on AV and I recognize that despite him being a good coach we may need a change, but WHO?

We came back from a 3 goal deficit and a goalie change, missing our top C and D (and largely having a semi dumpster-fire in both positions when they're out, which is another story) to tie them up. Some bad reffing (both sides) and a very debatable non-goal and we lost by one. I'm not saying we can do this against top teams, but hey. I like seeing our "lesser" guys rally and make a comeback.

Still definitely need to make some moves/trades if we want to really compete this year (which I personally do not see as possible) or in order to build for the future, but this was a fun game and I loved seeing Kreider and Buch come out hard while lacking their main driver. That, more than anything, is what stood out to me. Edit: And the 4th line being competent. I miss Lindberg, but this Carey - Nieves - Fast thing ain't bad, so far.

Yes, Mika has been one of our top player this season for sure. Hopefully nothing serious maybe he catch a cold or flu?

Yes, it was a fun game, but so sad about our defense caught at bad times in end of 3rd, so important 2 pts as well. We are literally playing back against the wall in our 4 next games based on this night result unfortunately. We had two great win streaks as well, but with a poor start it get really hard competition in our division to get that Wildcard spot and into playoffs.

About AV - there are many opinions about him both good and some critics both from this fan base and the old Nucks hence why they decided to release AV contract in Vancouver.
In addition AV has some questionable lineup decision why scratch David D. having a 3 pts night with Buch & Kreider for instant, and at least use him on the wing instead of Paul Carey 1 pts in 13 games?
DD has 11 pts in 22 which is much better in comparison to Paul for instant - that is simple math. :)

And in this game he played the 4th line too often in 3rd when we are chasing the whole game, because Kreider - DD - Buch was just dominating the opposition, and they had much less TOI compare to the Hayes line, and Miller line who did not play that well in comparison, and such things set the coach in an evaluation process concerning important details like that, and personal management who should play. We are 25 games into this season, and we still struggle with line chemistry, and AV experiment with different line combinations.

Who were the Rangers 2 best players? I think all of us would agree Buchnevich and Kreider right?

Names of players who played more minutes than Kreider... Hayes, Vesey!!!, Zucc, Nash.
Names of players who played more minutes than Buch..all of the above PLUS, Desharnais, and JT Miller.

Good coaches play their best players the most minutes.

Kreider and Buch should basically have not left the ice in this game. any sane coach would have them playing a MINIMUM of 20 minutes tonight, maybe even closer to 25 the way they were going.

so yeah...FIRE AV.

Buchnevich had the least ES TOI on the team, sensible.

re: Kreider and Buchnevich's ice time. It's not as though the other lines sucked and blew it for us. Hayes' line was great, each player on it. Miller's line was the only one doing anything all through the 1st period. You can't say we dominated a game and then say only one line deserved to play. DD has been HS bad all season. He gets 3 assists and suddenly he's a 1C? Hayes and Miller's lines played very well. Even the 4th line had good shifts.

A couple posts, a terrible disallowed goal call, a handful of phantom interference penalties were the difference. Not Kreider playing another two shifts that could've easily been terrible given that Kreider is Kreider.

And then there's the missing 93 and 27...

Oh I know man. I agree. I'm all for a change. Coaches often just have expiry dates with groups of players. It's just a question of who's the replacement? Ruff? Nah. Arniel? Hell no! So that's my main point of contention.

And yeah, we're in for a rough ride. Win streak aside we have too many issues to be a real contender and we've always been 1-2 injuries short of a disaster. That we managed to do this with Hank "off" (I think 2 were completely not his fault, and I am NOT a Hank defender if you check my post history), missing McD and Zib... that's impressive. But that's the Panthers. This won't last. It's my biggest fear. Drafting poorly in a deep an solid draft. We did (probably) well last season. Add to that this year and when Shesty comes in we're right back in the mix. Going hard this year leads to nothing. Without major moves we're not contending. Major moves mean sacrificing future, likely, since trades like Brass/Ziba don't happen often. I don't want us to do that. I fear they do it for Hank if we're close to playoffs or slightly in. But this team is way too flawed to handle the big boys. We've had our fun playoff runs. It's time to build a little. I don't wanna tank and suck for years, I just wanna build on last year. Make some moves, get a decent pick or two in this draft and if Shesty keeps it up we won't be out long. Push for it this year and it's a waste. Too many holes.

I still have fun watching guys progress and improve. We'll need that.

Yeah, it`s difficult decision for G. Sather. Personally I like the Leafs coach and Julien who are coaching Habs at the moment. And Julien might resign earlier if they continue to struggle and decide to go with a complete rebuild - while the rumors about Max Pacioretty is going on and NHL teams inquires about him.

His average TOI in the KHL was 13:55 because of AV

14:25 if you only look at regular season games.

He played 14:01 tonight tied for second with most PP TOI.

Buchnevich Pavel:Kontinental Hockey League (KHL)

Do Russians also think he's too lazy and Russian, or is Buch elite on one end of the rink only?
Or maybe he was a 19/20 year old on the most stacked teams in the KHL? His TOI on Severstal in his last season was 17:56, then he went to SKA and got 12:16.

Yeah and then he went to a more stacked team in a even more stacked league, the NHL.

Underweight and with a back injury in his first year.

Excellent set for the spike though.

But, but, he is almost PPG @ReggieDunlop68 in his second NHL season!
It was an impressive research though +1 with a reliable source too. ;)

Almost a PPG on the power play, and AV doesn't seem mind playing him on the power play, and he does well on the power play.

We are also not even in December of his sophomore season after the whole team had a rough start.

I might be getting into tin foil territory though.

I mean look at the Flyers. Hakstol is/was a lame duck coach going into the season, and they already hired his replacement, and he is sitting on the bench next to him. Flyers have started to go with their youth, and while their have been growing pains, they now have Knoblauch who was probably the best NHL coaching candidates who was in Juniors, and he can be trusted with developing that young core. This was smart.

The Rangers gave AV an extension, hired retread Lindy Ruff and let AV keep Arniel too. Makes no sense from a player development point. Just reeks of a team that is desperately trying to keep the window open, hoping that Ruff could keep the team afloat if they stopped listening to AV. This was not smart.

The only guy with the tin foil hat is the last guy left defending AV on this topic. Look in the mirror.

I don't watch them, but the stats for the yearned for dmen in Hartford are horrific. Does someone who watches them know something that doesn't show up on the scoreboard?

Considering that Hartford is in a battle for worst team in the league, is the contention that their forwards and goaltending are making the dmen look bad?

There is a thing called fatigue. Look it up.

But according to nevesis he plays better when he plays more.

Hank has said many times over the years, the more he plays the better. The only time he was mentally exhausted was at the end of the SCF, for obvious reasons.

He will be fine by the playoffs as long as the defensive structure doesn’t completely crumble in front of him which it has the past few seasons.

This is the 3rd ****ing time this team has tied a game down 3+ only to lose it regulation. This is the worst defense I've ever seen in my ****ing life.
Most teams cannot even fathom coming back from 3 down. This team can, but it's very disheartening in comparison to feeling so great had they won.
Heard that the Panthers have NEVER lost a game when up by 3 at some point. I cannot believe that. Who would've thunk it?
