This current D core included Ryan Mc. won`t reach playoffs - it`s like this every year huge mistakes or miss reads in own D zone and most simple play to get it out safely or skate it behind your own net. G in playoffs blind turnover ended up in our own net - Ottawa vs Pens. and we are out of 2nd round of playoffs.

Teams that win cups don't have weak links on the blue line. Teams that win cups don't give up three goals in a first period at home.
Uh, go take a look at the 6 D that the Pens ran just last year in the playoffs. Pretty weak group overall.

Penguins gave up FOUR goals in the first period of one of the games of the ECF last year.

In the Cap era of the NHL literally EVERY team has flaws and weak links.

Deserved better tonight, but that's our penance for Sunday. People will say "gambler's fallacy" but I've been watching this game a long time - it works itself out.

#BlockingShotsIsStupid
Id say the opposite . you cant get that far behind that early and not pay for it

they did great coming back but got what they deserved

I'll rip Lundqvist with the best of them, but tonight really wasn't his fault. The third goal was bad, yes, but the first two were strange bounces. Bad thing is games like this destroy his confidence, then he does revert to sieve status for weeks.

I bet if you look at the percentage of teams winning after being down 2-0 and 3-0 I bet the difference is astronomical. So for all intents and purposes he lost us the game on that 3rd goal. He has a great offense and a shitty Florida team to thank for the game being within reach.

Like I said no NHL coach would do it but it would be nice to see what some of the younger guys are capable at some point.
I was really critiquing the poster you quoted. My bad.

He had a handful of good games. Why is he ****ing beyond reproach? We can **** on Holden but if you complain about a goalie that gave up 3 goals on 6 shots you're a bad guy. Why because he was once good? He had a good 4 game stretch last year too.
No, he’s not beyond reproach but everyone immediately wants to jump to “oh he’s washed up he’s a sieve again” when it’s plain to anyone watching anything besides the stat line that Hank has been very good for a while now, better than any point last year. This was a bad game, he looked off for sure. But the “oh good he’s awful again” shit is a joke and your response here isn’t much better. Was good once? Have you not been watching the games? I remember you saying lately that you hadn’t watched a bunch.

I guess that’s where the disconnect lies, you usually blame the goalie to begin with then add in the fact that you’re not watching the games and just stat watching. Hank has looked excellent for the last month and he frankly earned the benefit of the doubt (with his play this season not because of his history) to assume this was an off night and not a sign of things to come.

They were all playing aggressive. I dont think it was the best decision but they had a number of players in the middle of the ice to recover. And he bottom line is Holden had the puck and easily couldve cleared that
I'm sorry but if you watch the replay its clear the Rangers were going for a clear and Smith decided to skate into a group of Panthers. Either get it deep or peel back.

Can we at least agree it’s mostly from the exact same person for like five years straight? If not at least from the moment he joined.

There are some people here on both sides of the Lundqvist argument who clearly have an agenda.

Half this board criticizes Lundqvist nowadays. Just because he gave you warm and fuzzy memories you can't look at things objectively.

I will just quote myself from a couple of games back.

Well this is a pattern with him in his career. He improved on it somewhat in his 11-12 season and thereabout but he just ends up having some of the worst games of his career after great games or stretches. It's frustrating. It used to be that it didn't happen this quickly though.

Wouldn't mind a few games of Chytilmania
A year or two from now, I wanna see the duo of Buch and Chyril scoring goals and landing haymakers in decimating the six guys not wearing the same jerseys on the ice.

Have you been watching over the past month? Serious question.

Because your comments read like someone who hasn’t watched much since the beginning of the year.

Someone else can get the exact stats but I’m pretty sure I’m his last 12 starts Hank was 9-2 and somewhere around 2.30 and .930%.

True but as much as it pains me to say it they have two guys we don't even come close to matching when it counts.
Makes up for a lot of flaws

Sure he might be the most vocal one but it wouldn't surprise me if we have a couple more joining him shortly.
