When he said before game 7 versus the Habs that the Leafs were just going to go out there and "have fun tonight" I knew Toronto was done. (Okay, in fairness I knew they were done even before that but it doesn't fit my narrative).

I never liked the Jumbo signing in Toronto, and still don't. I really wonder what Dubas and now Zito thinks he is bringing to the club as he sure can't play anymore and his leadership abilities are ... well, see quote above.

Nice that he waited to see if Jagr was going to play again. Trying to keep up with the old(er) man!

What?
Barkov, Bennett, Reinhart, Lundell, Acciari, Luostarinen, and Lammikko are all centers.
This puts us at 21 NHL forwards under contract.
We also have a colossal coaching staff that includes recent ex NHLers Tuomo Ruutu and Derek MacKenzie, so we aren't starved for elder skatesmen in the locker room.

I like it: we could use another C in case of injury or to give Lundell/Luo a night off.
Lundell and Luo will never need a night off. They should be playing as many games as possible for the sake of their development.

I mean I am just baffled...
Thornton won't even be our 15th best forward.

During training camp scrimmages he'll be a 4C.

For Panther's sake, hopefully he's better than Jagr on Jagr's last year in Florida.

Lundell just got another good center mentor, as if Barkov wasn't enough. He's spoiled lol.
