The value he adds to a locker room far exceeds his on-ice contributions. Florida just got a top-tier character guy. Everyone on the team can learn from him.
Learn how to what? Never win in their careers?

Learn how to be a good hockey player. He has won the olympic gold, WJC gold, the world's gold, Art Ross and Hart.Learn how to what? Never win in their careers?
Do you really think any other contenders want a 41 year old who can’t skate or stay healthy?Does he really think that the Panthers have the best chance of contending next year?
I would have thought TBL.
So if Marleau does not play this season and Jumbo manages to play all 82 he could be 17 games behind for all time record hmmmm
Wasnt Jagr older than Huby-Barkov combined when they played togetherThornton is older than Knight and Lundell combined lol
Old people really do love Florida.
New strategy: 5 forward lines, 4D and no goalie; outscore everyone and win by double digits resultsBut why?
Where does he fit for them? 5th line?
False. Not sure what Thornton adds at this point
Dude doesn’t produce in the playoffs even during his prime

Not that crazy of a jump and Florida has about 18 forwards right now so your logic is flawed at best.
Don't you want top tier character guys who know what it takes to win?The value he adds to a locker room far exceeds his on-ice contributions. Florida just got a top-tier character guy. Everyone on the team can learn from him.
As a Sharks fan, dear god no.Obviously, it's not going to happen, but it'd be cool if Thornton got his 82, went back to SJ the next year, played in the first 17, Marleau rejoins the Sharks, the two of them play 21 more games together, then retire together as Sharks at 1800 games each.
I thought he was the most dangerous Leafs on the PP last year. Maybe if they keep him there, with little 5vs5 time it can work.
