Except the usual trouble makers will just keep speculating in other threads. Easier to play whack a mole in one location ;)
honestly curious here.

Why are users here being told "do not speculate?" People speculate ALL ThE TIME on the internet over potential charges forthcoming from any legal case.

No, by my logic you're innocent because you didn't do it while also being not guilty in the eyes of the law. In the situation I presented I'm not guilty in the eyes of the law but guilty of actually committing the crime. The original post you were responding to was only saying that it's possible to be cleared in court while having actually done the crime.
The problem with that tho is then it is 100% impossible to ever say someone is innocent of a crime and that like many have said here, since you cant be proven innocent then that gives them grounds to keep working under the assumption that they’re guilty.

And if Brian Burke wants my IP address, give it to him.
I'll fight that fat f*** in a barn and defend the honor of my god and savior K Lowe.

Serious question: why just five players have to report?

From what I read there were eight of them in that hotel room? What about the other three?

Derpifornia

"One of Hill's attorneys, Bryan Freedman, wrote the following in a statement: "In April 2022, Trevor Bauer sued Lindsey Hill for defamation. In what turned out to be an outstanding resolution for Lindsey, neither Lindsey nor anyone on her behalf paid anything to Bauer. Not a single dollar. Even better, Lindsey received $300,000 from her insurance company. Based on that payment, Lindsey agreed to settle the lawsuit. Now that the lawsuit is over, Lindsey looks forward to helping others.""

Bauer's insurance company didn't pay her anything. Bauer was counter suing her for defamation, she received a payment from her own insurance company, they then both dropped their respective lawsuits.
The important part of the lawsuit was Bauer got access to the text message and video evidence that was withheld from his attorneys during the investigation.

thanks for this!

I wonder what the "legal action" was for and if it was a legit legal complaint.

I mean, dont get me wrong. Im all for sites running things their way, I just find it hilarious when people say "you're stifling my freedom of speech right" (those of us in the US of course)

It can expand based on the interviews they will be conducting with the accused. These are likely the individuals they feel they have the best evidence against.

It's been speculated here that one case involves "Brian B".

No, that's too revealing...let's say that it involves "B. Burke".

They have a tape where the victim allegedly makes some kind of statement the night of. Everything rides on if she was inebriated enough and/or coerced on that video to be clearly unable to give consent.

Yes, very interesting that only five were charged, but it would be the purest speculation what happened to the other three. Three could have, for instance, already cut deals to turn state's evidence in return form reduced sentences. Or, maybe there was never really eight in the first place, or the other three simply observed without acting. Will have to wait for meaningful answers.

Or the 5 are the ones they have the less evidences or charged at a lower degree off involvement. And they want scare them into giving a bit more on the others.
We don't know.

Feel free to not speculate. Oh I just did... no no I just typed out loud... idk man :)

This coming from a Blackhawk fan, from Canada…

Boy oh boy! The ‘none reporting’ going on with this situation is unbelievable! Compared to the Blackhawks and the whole Kyle Beach saga-then the whole Corey Perry media fiasco this is so biased…I’m a Canadian hockey fan and the ‘protecting’ going on with ‘our boys’ is absolutely unbelievable…hypocrisy is crazy!

Maple Leafs usher child sex abuse, was swept under the carpet…poor Kruse kid killed himself over it…

Just can’t believe how little this is being talked about…Canadas’(yes the whole country) dirty little secret, not the only thing Hockey Canada has ‘hidden’ about its glorious sport
You blind?

I feel for the fans of those teams that have players suspected as being part of this.

If there is merit to the charges and they result in eventual convictions, the only fans I feel for are the kids who may've idolized one of these players and the parents who have to explain why that player isn't around. I wonder if teams, in that situation, would do jersey buybacks and the like.

Pulling out a camera for prove of consent after sex doesn't sound insecure/paranoid at all...
It could but for arguments sake many porn companies systematically do those videos to remove any ambiguity. I think it will ride on her physical state and the tone of her voice in that video. I assume the prosecution believes beyond a reasonable doubt she looks unable to consent on that tape.
