Pretty sure he said he has a desire to eat humans as well

Ive thought of this and hypothetically (chill fbi guy i aint boutta do it) i think it makes sense to be a cannibal if you eat any meat you can lay your hand on.

A lot of our ancestors were cannibals, and soon enough, if the world doesnt change, we might have to start considering it when shit hits the fan.

I don’t think we’ll ever get to that point, once all farmed meat is replaced by either plants or lab grown we are going to free up 3/4s of the earths farmland.

LOL You crack me up dude

Whats more likely to happen is that shit massively hits the fan and civilization as we know it falls, or partially. If this happens and if I ever need to make the choice of me dying vs killing a random dude, Im sorry random dude but Im going all-out on that buttcheek.

The lab meat is coming bro, you’ll start to see it appear as soon as next year. By the end of the next decade it is expected to be cheaper than factory farmer meat at which point every fast food restaurant on the planet will switch to lab grown meat.

Here in the Netherlands there was recently a nitrogen pollution law passed which led to massive farmer protests. I don't know about you @angusyoung but I noticed the price of beef jump drastically. Kogelstuk is like 8 euros for 300 grams!

Anyways, anti-climate change policies can be used to reduce the demand for meat by pricing in their nitrogen and carbon. I really like Kogelstuk, but I don't like it ''26 euros per kilo.'' Factory farming makes meat artificially cheap. If people had to pay twice as much for their meat they'd switch to beans pretty f***ing quickly. Meat would become a status symbol.

I doubt it. Scientific advancement can only go so far before it falls into diminishing returns. The way were going to save this civilization is by letting it fail. Hopefully some can learn from it and regrow it better.
Is this what they are teaching you in school lol

This is quite literally how we are going save our civilization
Nothing will ''save'' our civilization. It will collapse or die, simply a matter of time, just like every other civilization before us.
Veganism is not the solution, they will never stop people from eating meat so long as it is accessible, instead of fighting an impossible fight suggesting how animal products are terrible for your health and doing a bad job presenting your points, they'd be much better off attaching a pricetag to the production.

Lab grown meat is likely to takeover the Impossible/Beyond/garbage burger currently out, it might affect the meat industry as well but not nearly as much imo.
Bottom line is cost and demand. McDonald will put up lab meat, their current veggie burger, and the classic meat patties. If the cost of a lab meat is cheap with a strong demand where it makes sense to eliminate the regular meat, then they'll do that. I doubt we ever get to that point. It's just a vegan europhic idea.

The only way to reduce or eliminate meat consumption is to increase the cost of production. As NotProko said, he loves his meat but not at 26 euros the kilo. If the chicken kebab at the local fast food joint cost 40$ but the falafel was 7$..you'd get a lot more people switch to the falafel.
But then, I suspect, a lot of the diseases we see today would still be quite high, maybe worse, as fried food consumption would rise. Same goes with diabetes and the likes, with increased consumption in pasta, bread, cookies, etc..

This has been discussed for a long time here with these vegan documentaries, affordability is the main driver of health. You want to save the planet by eliminating factory farming, then hit the cost. That's the only chance.

Diabetes rates among vegans is lower how the heck would there be an increase with lessened meat consumption? Heart disease and cancer rates would decrease as well. There is no downside other than people getting over it.

I do agree getting people to pay for the “real cost” of their food would encourage people to eat more plant foods. Dairy in fact is subsidized by the government thanks to the Dairy lobby which in Canada is unfortunately ridiculously strong. Makes zero sense.

Also for anyone who still thinks I’m “biased” against anything not vegan, lab grown meat isn’t vegan but I absolutely support it (even if I wouldn’t eat it). So there’s goes that narrative.

... And paleo, carnivore, wtv dieters also have lower diabetes risk...

Very disappointed in myself. I was doing so well, starting to see real results and getting compliments. Felt great.

Then I went on vacation at the end of August. I came back to a true nightmare scenario at work, and now it's been 2 MONTHS I have no worked out at all. Just no time, no energy, no motivation. I feel awful, just totally worn down by the stress and grind of my job and a newborn at home. Thankfully, the project I am on at work should end by December so, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I just hate that I let all this hard work come undone. I'm going to have to start over again with all my lifts and work my way back up. As far as cardio goes, I also need to start over completely as I doubt I can even run a 5k at this point. That's after running 10-12km 5 days a week. So disappointing.

Parenthood can be tough. I've accepted that I can't do everything I used to as a single guy. Like, I can't powerlift, do 60-80 hours, be a dad, see friends, take care of the house, etc. all at the same time or beat myself up because of it, as it's really an impossible task to achieve.

It takes a lot of self reflection to reorganize your goals and prioritize, but you end up happier and more balanced.

The bronze age collapse is fascinating, but also terrifying.

DGS is right however, we still have the time and ressources to reorganize our systems and infrastructure before resorting to eating our neighbors and violating their boys.
