I’m amused by the idea from some here that Rempe is some unstoppable force that would have kept the Isles in check

When in reality he probably would have fought in the first period and been thrown outta the game
Agree and I dont know who you propose to have sat for him? Thought Brodz/Cuylle ended up having decent games and probably brought more than he could have.

Got no problems with Lavi backing his guys, I just don’t see anything insane on the Mika hit.
It looked like he looked right at Mika before it happened. Not sure though. Clearly not enough on video to prove it was intentional.

That guy 100% can see him in his peripheral. He knew what he was doing.

Those two would probably taste pretty good roasted with garlic, EVOO, and red pepper flakes.

Laviolette is too comfortable with slow starts…

Laviollette is too comfortable playing a soft hockey game with a pillow cushion forecheck game.

Laviolette is often a day late and a dollar short to get in the referees ear. He’s got to get fired up more work the refs Scotty Bowman.

We’ll be out in the first round if we bring this slop to the postseason.

Varly with no stick for a minute or more with the the puck in the islander end and rangers having possession of the puck and no shots was a sight to behold.
I was more unimpressed by K4qko's one-timer

My thing is though, let's assume Pelech was trying to set a screen or obstruct or redirect Zibanejad in some way. What's up with Zibanejad gliding across the entirety of the center circle without even taking a peek in front of him? He takes a peek before he gets to the circle, then he just glides through the circle completely oblivious to everything around him. One single glance, a half step to the side, it's not even a collision.

Pelech didn't do anything wrong, even if he was hoping to catch a piece of Zibanejad on the way by. That's a play that happens a a dozen times per game, but isn't noteworthy because the guy in Zib's shoes has, as Larry Brooks put it earlier in the year, "spatial awareness."
