Finn sucked. Marner is not a failure. He was deveastated he is a winner. I rewatched the 7 game series and he was great setting up his line mates for tap ins that they missed. He always takes responsibility for the teams losses even when they were not on him.
3 horrid plays cost us yet people blame Marner. Gally Dermott and Sandin cost us along with a coach that only can swear. Over playing players all year long.

It's nice when a $10M+ player can chip in the odd goal instead of you know, never scoring.

So if he scored 10 goals and we still loss you would be fine. He played well despite being exhausted. Overplayed all year long by an idiot coach. Who looks like a person who takes no responsibility for the losses. He was out classes by a coach.

Would have made a spectacular docuseries had they gone all the way. Everything was in place, invitations sent out, the preacher/hall/band/caterer/ was booked, places set and the bride took off running out of the church.

We can only hope this whole collapse was a learning experience and they move forward - no looking back.

As is, this is a painful watch but oddly gives me a bit of closure. I'm ready to move on

I saw that as well. He is an idiot Mathews made a comment to the media which was valid that he did not like. Told his boss on him then stated nothing to Mathews when he confronted him.

When asked who was starting in Goal in the playoffs he said nothing Dubas answered the question.

Agreed. I'm shocked at how involved Dubas is on what should be the coaching side. Those talks that he had with all the players to settle them down and boost morale should be coming from the coaches. It just seems like Keefe runs the practices and that's pretty much it. When he went over to Spezza and had that talk with him it was clear that the team doesn't really respect Keefe

So was Marner exhausted and bad because of Keefe, or was he great all series and trying to carry weak linemates? You have to pick one

Just watched Episode 1 and like others have said, I have a new found respect for Keefe. It also unfortunately verifies what I thought all along about some of our core 4...entitled, omniscient when it comes to the game. Keefe saw what Babcock probably saw with this core, only he handled it a bit better by consulting with the players and being less adversarial. But make no mistake, Keefe is a better coach than many here give him credit for, including me.

I thought keefe showed overall quite well in the series, but he way overreacted to what Matthews said. Auston was directly asked if they played too safe, and he said they did, which wasn’t an unfair response. Seems to me keefe used a different interpretation of safe to then get annoyed about when it’s clearly not how Matthews meant it

I just binged watched it. I loved it! I thought it was really well produced. I love have loved to see more personal side of our top stars. Too much was made of the coffee club and things like that. Wanted more away from the rink stuff.

you have to remember it was during lockdown/Covid. They were quite literally doing nothing besides playing video games, going to the rink and playing hockey. That is probably the only downside to the timing of the series

Can't express himself properly so uses profanity as his crutch.

If he can’t smoke and swear, he can’t express himself properly. He’s simply exercising his rights under the People's Freedom of Choices and Voices Act.

But seriously, I didn’t find his speeches inspiring. Saying f*** 20 more times than normal doesn’t make anyone take you or the moment more seriously. In moderation, it’s effective but that whole episode I saw (Episode 5) was a f*** fest.

others have recapped, and I heard absolutely zero that surprised me or I couldn't infer already from watching them on the ice.

so, don't have to watch it and never will.

Curious why you would post this deeply into the thread, just to tell people you're not going to watch it?

You must realize that people in here have no interest in a post from someone who is not watching, right?

Keefe comes across as a p***y. Blows a gasket to Dubas about Matthews and then has a soft as shit discussion with Matthews face to face

Dubas: "Are you asking me how you should handle this?"

FFS, a real NHL coach wouldn't need advice on handling his team from a guy that's never played or coached.

Keefe seems to treat them like children at times ..... like blowing his lid during practice and asking if they wanted to go home or run the drill correctly? Seems like tactics you do with kids and not adults as old as 40.

I don't think he should be trying to force players to play the way he wants them to either, like Vesey or the players who aren't working as hard as he wants them too. They should move on from them, trade them. He approaches vesey and said he needs more from him and wants Vesey to play harder... Vesey responds with "sooo what I'm hearing is I'm liking getting pulled from the lineup soon" unhappily. Not, "Thanks Coach, you haven't seen my best yet! I'm glad you still believe in me" his response was terrible and came off entitled.

Right then and there Vesey should've just been waived, he clearly doesn't have the aspirations to be the type of player Keefe wanted.

because I felt like it and couldn't care less what people have an interest in? do I need a reason?

I'll be sure to clear my comments with you first next time

I think that we played it pretty “safe” in those last three playoff games, particularly at the beginning, which was a massive mistake by our players. I think that’s the safe that Keefe was concerned about early in the season which as it turns out was prescient.

That'd be good......thanks for understanding.

The show was a good watch. It was nothing profound, but still full with enough bits and pieces that you don't otherwise see.

It rekindled a lot of similar emotions that I had after the series ended. The summer softened the sourness that developed in me. I just hope players can figure out moving forward what they didn't last year.

I really want to see this rule book of what can and can not be posted on these boards... there are a few posters on these boards who seem to have been given one.

Keefe in practice "OK, hold up!"....... "I don't have a f#$ken whistle! Does anyone have a f*&*en whistle!!!!!!"

Guess it's ok for Keefe not to be organized, complacent or forgetful but not his team or assistant coaches?

Again, I like the passion and drive Keefe has.... but I don't think his authoritative approach is getting the respect of his players or coaching staff (see his argument with the goalie coach). Keefe was throwing Andersen under the bus but when Briere defended Andersen and gave him valid arguments on why Andersen wasn't to blame, Keefe through a tantrum like a little kid, and when Briere again pushed the topic of Andersens goals being unstoppable Keefe again refused to discuss it and said "fu%$ off".
