i'd personally keep a few others , dvorak, anderson, edmundson and evans. we could really only move toffoli ,savard and hoffman if they were hoping to leave to a contender. it's been hard enough getting free agents to come as it is , we don't wanna burn that bridge . primeau and guhle look promising. add a couple top five picks to that mix and our future will improve quickly. there are some other nice looking prospects on the way up , especially on defence in harris struble fairbrother mailoux brook . there are additional picks on the docket again . over the course of the next 2-3 years and using the salary retention allowed each year the following players can return more help . for example in
year 1 - chariot , kulak
year 2 - drouin , byron
year 3 - gallagher, petry
settling the weber / nashville situation will also contribute
The Weber Nashville situation is already settled.
so if weber decides to retire nashville is just gonna take on all those cap recapture penalties ?The Weber Nashville situation is already settled.
so if weber decides to retire nashville is just gonna take on all those cap recapture penalties ?
okYes, for the thousandth time. Especially since the league decreased the penalty so that it wouldn't exceed his actual cap hit.
Ice time. Finding the tempo is the NHL game. He is adjusting from being a scorer in the AHL to a grinder in the NHL. People were worried about his speed but he doesn't look slow for a depth role. He needs more time to see if he will be anything. What's preventing Benson from having success in the NHL? Oilers don't really have quality depth and it doesn't seem like he can find a way to really contribute or move up the line up. At the same time, it seems like he's done with the AHL.

Why would a player currently on LTIR, with an injury that has been described as potentially career ending, chose to retire and forgo his pay (and potentially some level of medical benefits - I don't know all the ins and outs of the NHL retirement package) in order to retire? Sit on LTIR and collect your money since long term injury reserve is intended for people like Weber with long term injuries.so if weber decides to retire nashville is just gonna take on all those cap recapture penalties ?
Man, this reminds me of one of those cheap skate offers on Kijiji where someone just throws out an offer to take something with positive value “off your hands.”
So you didn't watch the playoffs last year ?
because the last three years of his deal he makes 1 million per season . molson could pay him 1.05 million in a new management position just to screw the predators overWhy would a player currently on LTIR, with an injury that has been described as potentially career ending, chose to retire and forgo his pay (and potentially some level of medical benefits - I don't know all the ins and outs of the NHL retirement package) in order to retire? Rebuilds take longer than 2-3 years Ownership isn't going down the path of a rebuild despite what media and fans think or want .
Leafs offer Mikheyev and a 3rd for Chariot. Really don't want anything else.
Would a team like Oilers or Canucks take Price at 8mil ?
Maybe for a first pick 2022 ?
ITT Habs are a tire fire but every player is worth their max value
been that bad ? thought is was a steady player on the back end
Who are those 6-7 core guys under 25? Suzuki, Romanow, Caufield, Poehling, Pazetta and Norlinder? Seems optimistic to call them all core pieces.
