It is very strange that The Simpsons ran that weird, unfunny, almost confrontational Apu reference in a recent episode, only for Azaria to come on TV a week later and offer a full capitulation.

I may tune in again at some point to see what they do with 'Woke Apu'...should be worth a good cringe or two.

The ironic thing is Apu is actually one of the most if not the most positive example of a Springfield resident.

- He's had a steady job and works hard
- He provides for and loves his family
- He's highly intelligent
- He gets along with everyone
- He's generous and helpful

In contrast, how many Springfield citizens are just plain morons??? Plenty.
