Feels like a showcase, see if they can get any good games out of him for a few games while Nuke is injured before shipping him somewhere else.
I hope it’s better than that time they played the Canucks and were “showcasing” him for a rumored trade at that time. He played, like, two minutes tops.

Is Stienburg still injured?
Yeah, the Monsters'* Eagles site says that he's still only played 3 games this season, the last of which was on 11/01/24 vs TEX.

They guy I'm kind of wondering about is Ludvig. He's now played 4 games for the Eagles. But there's limited stats available (to me) and no real video that I can find. I want to know how he's looked with more minutes and ice time. Also...how many games is a conditioning stint allowed to be? 5, 10?

[* - Been a long time since I've typed that. Tuesday though is chemo day which means at this hour...Daddy is feelin' fine because he's had a toke.]

It's until he figures out how to properly use hair conditioner.

Who's the backup for the Eagles?

Not sure what is going on, but it's 41yo former NCAA div III player and current goalie coach of the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL, David DeSander.

Reading that guys hockeydb page is wild. Terrible stats in junior, terrible stats in college, terrible stats in the minors, then one AHL game in 2015 and another this year.

For anyone who cares, Adam Scheel is the current backup for Mandolese in Loveland.
His stats in the AHL are pretty good, actually. 2.32 GAA and .920 SV% in 9 games. His numbers in the ECHL this year are much worse, but also the Grizzlies are a pretty awful team this year. Third from the bottom in league standings I believe, so that may be a contributing factor if they're getting caved in every night.

Yeah I briefly looked at the stats of the current Grizzlies goalies and they’re bad. It’s funny because they show the GAA but when you look at the Save% it just says “N/A”.

Incidentally, where does the ECHL affiliate get their third goalie from?

I thought it was usually the SPHL. It's the next pro league down on the ladder in the US. Don't know for sure though, I think I remember reading that but I also could have imagined it.
