Despite his recent overall really good development, I still can´t see him closer to NHL. He will be one of those skilled Euros who you can see yearly on WCH with "Wow, who is that guy from XY national team?"

around 70K in salary.
The big difference for this year is that he would have been in junior making lunch money, not even the 70K or the 3,000 euros/month level. So it definitely makes a lot of sense for him to play where's he playing, and it seems to have been a great move for his development too to play against the older/better players.

If the Habs see enough in him, he could get enough of a signing bonus on an ELC to probably cushion that $70k up to something over $150k overall even in the minors. Should be better than he's getting now, but still maybe not as much as he'd get if teams in bigger European leagues thought he could be a frontline player for them.

I don't get the agenda of some people saying he somehow gave up and went back to Europe. I think it's completely the opposite. He had already played 2 seasons in a Canadian junior league, dominated there and had nothing else to prove. Because he was drafted to MTL from the Q, he wasn't allowed to play in AHL this year. That's why he decided to turn pro and play in the town he was born in at a competitive professional league. The Czech league + European Championship Hockey League are much more challenging than the CHL or the Memorial Cup, which will help Reway to become a better player and more ready for Hamilton next year.

I think he is Montreal's best prospect and can't see him not being a really good top-6 in the NHL. That talent is all world, and he's got speed to burn. He is extremely elusive and has incredible vision on the ice. Only thing that will stop him, is him.

Dominated juniors with nothing left to prove?

112 points in 90 games played certainly isn't "dominating" juniors.

Hes a good prospect but I think its silly to say he proved all he could in juniors...

I dunno... Last season he finished 10th in the league in points/game and 5th amongst U19 players. He had certainly established himself as one of the more prolific offensive players in the league and would have most likely put up gaudy numbers this year if he returned.

I'm sure he had plenty left to both prove and learn in juniors but at this point I don't think it really matters. He was given the opportunity to get decent minutes playing in a significantly better league and seems to be doing well.

Yeah I don't question his jump to playing in Europe again, just thought he was being a tad overrated saying he dominated juniors.

Definitely an interesting prospect, high offensive upside.

But what bothers me - his points are generated almost only in PP.

He is now 9 + 26 in 31 games. And 6 + 21 in PP.

still at least he's putting up good numbers in a men's league for a junior aged player. Have seen a lot of his games this year, he needs to get stronger and work on his defensive game but can be a lot of fun to watch.

I really fell in love with this prospect while watching his play in the WJC. Very intelligent player, who understands the game very well and has an excellent vision. He was able control the games ja dominate with these qualities he has.
Reway was no less important for his team than goaltender Godla.
Reway is a very good passer and a very lethal, clinical player, who does right choices with the puck and without it and in this he has much similarities with many top slovak and czech players. You give him a chance and he capitalizes it for sure.

As a finn I see him as a very similar player to Teuvo Teräväinen, althought they play with a different styles. Both were similarly important for their teams in the WJC.
Reway is a faster skater, than Teräväinen and more of a game reader. Reway is affecting the game more as a whole, while Teräväinen is even better when he is in the game and when he has the puck.

You're supposed to score on the PP.

Anyway, it won't hurt him if/when he joins the Habs. Pernell won a Norris scoring 26 of 38 points on the PP. Markov had 23 of 30 on the PP, too.

Off to a good start this year with Sparta, yesterday he scored 1 goal and then 3 in the SO. After the SO was tied up, with Reway already scoring once, in sudden death his coach put him out again to try to keep the game alive and he scored, then he put him out there again to try to win the game and he scored.

SO highlights,

Last i checked, the Habs need serious help on the PP...

The game is changing rapidly. Players like Reway will become more relevant.

Currently leads the Czech Elite league in points with 15 in 12 games and he has 6 points in 6 games so far in the Champions League Tournament. 2nd youngest player on his team at 20 years old. Wonder if the Habs try to bring him over next summer or use him as part of a package by the trade deadline to upgrade the club.

Also his teammate, former Hab draft pick that's now a FA, Daniel Pribyl is tied for 2nd on the team in scoring and has looked good so far. A injury cost him most of last year but he's got that NHL size and hands GM's look for, just has to keep working on his foot speed. A big year from him and I wouldn't be surprised if some teams get interested in him.

I hope it doesn't mean he will stay in Europe, I would be disappointed to not see him with the Habs.

He's made it clear he's not interested in playing in the AHL and I don't think he'd be making the Habs anytime soon (next year or 2) anyway if he came over. So it's probably for the best that he keeps playing in a quality league against older players. The Habs have until June 2017 to sign him.
