It's possible that he signs with the Habs and then gets loaned back to Europe, which is what I'm hoping for.

I would be a bit surprised if they do that, since he would count against the 50 contract limit and they don't have to sign him.

The conspiracy theorist in me is that he's trying to work a move to somewhere, even potentially Slovan.

He does kinda have a point though. Whilst Réway gets an average of 3:42min per game of PP time, he gets approx 10 mins of ES strength time, which is comparable to a third/fourth liner (shoutout @The_hockeyninja)

Does Montreal even have room under the contract limit. Its hard to figure out. I'd guess they don't have a lot.

Since it would be next year, we would have to see how many of the current teams UFA's/RFA's were re-signed and who is brought in to replace them. Right now the only player they have for sure turning pro will be Audette so they could have room.

Will be interesting to see where he ends up, last year he wanted to leave for the KHL but his club wouldn't lease him.

I wish him good luck in his career and to be fair I have to add that Sparta's coach should be little bit more diplomatic in terms of what he is spreading out to media.

On the other hand, this guy woudln't survive more than 10 matches (or maybe ten minutes?) in NHL for now. He needs at least one season in AHL and put himself together. He is so far that type of player who shows you some flashes in fist period and than you see him make a terrible mistake in crucial moment of the match. And he is soft....

His best game for Sparta was away in Zurich when I did not see him...

Guess he ends up in the KHL next year. Glad to hear he'll be back on the ice at least.

Sparta will have his rights for another year, so I think that he will go to the AHL next year.

But since it seems unlikely that he would re-sign with Sparta, why wouldn't they let him go to the KHL since he's not under contract and doesn't appear he ever will again. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the AHL but if he's about the money he won't make it in the AHL so I'd be surprised if he ends up there.

Question is, what is his prime target. Money? Or league level and his progress?
If money, then stay in Swiss. With your talent, you can have a really big paycheck.

If he want to prove, he belongs to the world elite, he should go to AHL and if he is lucky, to NHL.

He will have make a respectable amount of money after this season, if he makes 70k$ in the AHL next season that's still good money to help his family, and at some point, the biggest amount of money is in the NHL.

Kid's back on the ice, playing in the Swiss NLA now. After 7 games, he's got 12 points, leading the league in production rate at 1.71 PPG.

He wants to stay in Europe for another year or two. I think It would be better for him to play in KHL, what is the most possible scenario. And after that he will play in the NA I believe.

It seems like if he does come (back) over it won't be with Montreal.

He wanted to be traded from the Habs, the Habs wanted to trade him. At the end of the deadline still no trade, and it's not because the Habs seem to have many plans for him. He may not be in very high demand, at all. If his Sparta contract ties him down from the KHL this next year he should try Switzerland or Sweden.

He posted this pic on his instagram

He later deleted the post but you generally don't post pictures suggesting you be traded unless you want to be traded.
On the other side mostly rumors I can source if you want but I'm not sure of their accuracy myself, it was fairly well known that the Habs wanted Drouin and some say Hudon and Reway were offered, another that Juulsen and Reway were offered. It doesn't seem like the Habs have many plans for Reway and he certainly didn't help that demanding to play overseas again this year.

Let's see he's a late 4th round pick with a history of attitude issues, not just the QMJHL issue, the brief NT issue, or the Sparta issue but asking to play overseas as opposed to playing in the AHL (given that his biggest question mark is can he adjust defensively to the physicality of NA hockey) and then posting (albeit later deleting) a pic suggesting himself be traded. I have truly never come across a more desirable prospect...

I think if he was more willing to play in the AHL for a bit and show the GMs that he's not a defensive liability then he'd probably get a lot of interest. He also has interest in the KHL probably if they can free him from his Sparta contract. It may take him a while to get to the league though, there's not red carpet laid out for him anymore, if there ever was.
