5 pts in 16 games. Not terrible but not great either. Ohgren isn’t doing that much better, 6 pts in 17 games but has looked good in the games I have seen. Ostlund, the best of the bunch with 11 pts in 17 games.

I’ve watched only 2 of the DIF games this season but I’ve noticed Ostlund and Ohgren the most. Lekkerimaki doesn’t really have the option to go to North America either unless Vancouver trades his rights.

But knowing his past he could go on a 10 game heater and have a better point total, but the demotion to 4th line hurts

He will be fine, he's only 18 years old. I do however wish Canucks just only drafted RHD in that draft.

Well, Lekkerimäki looked great at the recent U20 tournament. Much better than Östlund and Öhgren.

You go down the list of drafted NHL prospects, and literally ZERO of the picks ahead of Lekkerimaki are having what you would call a "disappointing" year so far.
The only exception is Frank Nazar, who was injured and required surgery and thus has not played at all.
Ohgren and Ostlund having decent seasons on the same team, having been picked after Lekkermaki, stings a bit more.
Hopefully the WJCs give him a confidence boost.

He’s fine, was one of if not the youngest in the draft. I remember reading he was roughly a week away from being in this draft.

Takes a long time to really validate draft rankings. Savioe has been average this year as well, so there are players that have questions marks above Lekkerimaki as well.

I always find it very strange how people want to label these guys busts or try and re evaluate a draft right away. Or even have 3 seasons. Most players take 5 years from their draft to become regular nhlers. Lekkerimaki was the best of the bunch of the swedes at the U 18's his raw tools are obvious. I think he is just slow to develop physically. People just need to be more patient with these guys.

I dont watch him or know the workings of his team, is he getting any icetime? Has he been injured? Lots to it. Will be interesting to see him at the WJC this year against players his own age.

Why would you draft him with absolutely everything the Canucks were missing in Lamoureux on the board
Are you joking

That dude was ranked 56th on Button and 44th on McKenzie. The Canucks would have been roasted if they reached that hard for a raw player like Lamoreaux whose only noteworthy feature is "size". Especially a rookie GM like Allvin.

After 11 games in the playoffs, Lekkerimaki matched his regular season output with his 9th point.

That is a big rebound from the D+1 from hell that he was going through after mono, a concussion, and finally a foot injury ended his reg season.

while the 4 points are certainly nice, now more than a point per game, would love for the team to come back in the series against Modo so Djurgarden gets promoted back to SHL.

Yeah I’d like to see those calling him a bust would play:

when you had to deal with mono (symptoms linger for MONTHS)
come back and then get a concussion
get rushed back into the WJC, get sheltered minutes due to coming back from injury + not up to game speed
and then returning to the Allsvenskan with low confidence
then getting injured again this time your foot.

Many had Lekkerimaki as a top 10 pick leaqding up to last years draft. Canucks did well to pick him at 15. Had a real tough year coming back from Mono and getting a concussion almost right away. He has been very good in the playoffs though, looks like Canucks fans would have hoped for. Hopefully he has a effective offseason and can get back on track as one of our top prospects.

He had mono before the U18s in April last year, so 5 months before this season started up.

Vancouver still made him travel a whole lot during the summer which he found tough. You'd figure they would let him rest up, right?
