Honestly I really don't like ISS.Probably the most underrated prospect in the scouting community last year. FC and ISS had him in the 3rd round lol.
He was also like 5'11 and 160-170 lbs last year until he had a growth spurt and is now 6'2 202 lbsHonestly I really don't like ISS.
I can see how it happened though. Very young, underscouted and his 8 points in 34 Extraliga games don't look like much until you consider the context (no PP time, playing in the bottom 6, the fact that most kids never even make Extraliga at that age).
Good scouting by the Rangers.
You mean people who never watched him play and base their knowledge of the players on "consensus" draft day lists that are merely nothing but suggestive? Everone who had seen Chytil in the u18s knew he was a bonafide 1st round talent. Actually I thought he should go in the top 20 before the draft.I like Chytil over Tolvanen and I think he’s way above Yamamoto. Don’t get me wrong both players will be good-great though. People laughed when Rangers picked up Chytil at 21 (and Lias at 7) and I do remember a few saying he should not have gone 1st round. At the time of the draft a lot said the Rangers lost the draft or messed it up for themselves, it’s starting to look like we had one of the best drafts.

The only problem with Hronek was his size. With so young D and with his size, you have to be very careful in men´s league. In the same season he played more then 10 games in U20 league (+ playoffs) and more then 10 games in WSM liga (2nd league), where he got bigger ice time. After the trade deadline, he might get some games in the NHL, but I think they are still hesitant mainly about his size. And then in the ELH, it was two years earlier.Seems like this is kind of a little niche... drafting guys with good skill sets who are buried in the Czech men's league. Detroit did this with Hronek, believe he was playing only 8:26 a game in the Extraliga in his draft season. Although Chytil did have a really good WJC, so not like he was a complete unknown.
I feel like this could happen again this year with Jakub Lauko.

This season it's not just about Jakub Lauko, but also late 99 born Martin Kaut who will with U19 squad in Hradec Králové. He could play along with Martin Nečas; also draft eligible goalie Jakub Škarek will be there. But about tournament in Plymouth, I have to say that my "personal favourite" is Karel Plášek. I think he is very underestimated, he also played some matches in ELH in the ongoing season.
Meh it's definitely not Lauko, I don't really like him at allSeems like this is kind of a little niche... drafting guys with good skill sets who are buried in the Czech men's league. He definitely didn't but thats what he was listed as last year, I do believe the growing 3 inches part was real but the weight is definitely offI dont really follow Chytil but I can guarantee he didnt grow 3 inches and 40 lbs over the course of a year, especially not playing the amount of hockey that he does
He really is very reminiscent of Eric Staal in playing style.
Think next season is a wash anyway, no reason to not let him play center next year. And the Rangers seem to think he's a center, he's play there all year at every level. Even in the last 3 games since he's been up, when they've had him on a line with other centers (Hayes, few shifts with Andersson) he's been the one in the middle with the others switching to wingI am convinced this kid is NHL ready at wing based on hands, speed skills. Not yet sold he is ready for primetime @ center. Center alot harder position to learn than the wing

Same here. I was really hyped for Cherepanov (RIP) he had tons of potential. Chytil has every tool to become an elite player, just needs to get stronger. His shot can improve a lot as well but he has a nice one timerEvgeni Malkin-lite. He won't be as successful as Malkin, but the skill and play style is certainly there.
He looks dominate as an 18 year old, he'll be 19 the entire season next year.
Haven't been this excited in a prospect, ever.
