I’m as high on Chytil as anyone, but I’d say he’s produced about how I expected him to. Pacing for 30 points on a bad team as a 19 year old is perfectly acceptable, especially when those points come in exicting flashes of greater potential. I think Quinn has handled him almost perfectly thus far. That was a really nice goal tonight. Still think he has way more untapped talent that is being squelched by Quinn.
If you took all of the most basic thingsChytil scored yesterday and is on pace for about 25 points over an 82 game season playing 13:47 per game. He's only going to play 78 games because he was scratched for a few games and also missed a few due to illness.
I would've expected more than around 25 points for such a highly rated prospect, but he hasn't gotten the role he's deserved. For a rebuilding team, a high-end prospect should not be playing less than 14 minutes per game. He's also at certain stretches not even been on the PP, which is a complete joke.
Chytil shows flashes of very good play, but then stretches where he's completely non-existent. He's best at using his speed to beat defenders 1v1, and he shows flashes of high end skill and playmaking, although its not consistent. His finishing and decision-making with setting up scoring chances is not good, but he's also a 19 year old rookie. You would expect that to improve as he plays more NHL games. At times, his hockey IQ and decision making with the puck is questionable, but thats another area of the game that might be down to playing in the best league in the world as a 19 year old.
He's mostly played wing this season, but has recently been moved to center. I think he's done better as a center, and I think eventually he might be able to stick at the position. His defense is below-average right now, but not anything out of the ordinary for a rookie.
I think he projects as a top 6 forward. The question is a top six forward of what caliber. Will he be a first line forward or is he more of a second line forward. I don't see 1C upside. I think there are too many holes in his game for that, but I could see him as a first line winger with more consistent playmaking and skill. He tends to mis-control a lot of pucks, despite at times showing flashy puck control. I don't know if I've ever seen a player with high-end skill or flashes of high-end skill do it as often as Chytil. If the hockey IQ continues to look questionable and he doesn't show more than flashes of skill and playmaking, he could be more of a second line player, but I think those concerns are too premature due to him being a rookie.
He's had a slightly below average rookie season and there are areas of the game he needs to improve on, but I think part of that is not his fault and the improvements he needs to make are very fixable parts of the game.

Chytil definitely has top line ability and I will continue to say this, he will reach it. He needs to add strength first (especially to his shot) and learn the harder areas of the game. His size, speed, and offensive ability gives him an incredible ceiling but again, needs to improve what I said earlier and also his hands. Chytil is a flashy player but he has no hands, losing the puck a lot. He said it himself though, this long season has taken a toll on him. He’s still very raw though and only 19, he’s played well and has shown flashes of elite talent but he needs to bring it more consistently. He’s been really snake bit the whole year as well. Very happy with Chytil’s year so far and as for Lias, I’m not worried about him at all, he looks good to me so far.Definitely fixable. He has the tools and size and I still believe for sure he has top 6 ability and hopefully top line ability. He's shown plenty of flashes. Of course consistency has been an issue but that can be improved with a 19 year old. Much different than Lias (who hasn't shown much unfortunately) and Chytil was picked 21 and slated to go even in the second round. Still have a lot of hope and excitement for him.
