:nod::nod::nod::nod:

Wasn't overly hyped about tourney to begin with. However after a very "colorful" exhibition game tonight south of the border all I can say is that I'm now officially on board. I'll be waiting for you Muricans when you come to Toronto in a few days!! :snide:

After all we aren't the Gold Medal Champs for nothing. Canada will be fine, we just need to tune up a wee bit! ;)

We'll bounce back. I'm pumped, this game got me fired up for sure

What a ridiculous excuse, these are all NHL players they are used to playing on bad ice all the time.

Yes, both teams play on the same sheet of ice so no excuses. Regardless, it was still poor quality watching how much the puck was bouncing around.

I don't expect the Columbus ice team to be on point in September. I just made an observation.

Might not be next game, they were talking about possible supplementary discipline for kesler on sportsnet tonight.

We'll get him eventually. This is going to turn into a Scottish blood-fued before it's over.

I wasn't going to bother with the WCH, but that game got me into it. Just great hockey.

Going to be a great game between these two in the round robin. Looking forward to it

Are you attending tomorrow in Ottawa. The crowd needs to ****ing bring it, I know the Ottawa crowd will. Can't wait to see them tomorrow on our soil.

A little hot under the collar are you?

You've NEVER seen one of your Finnish players play rough hockey with some extra curricular stuff?

I've never known them to be angels myself.

Try not let any bias you have, and I saw your first post here tonight enough to know right away you have it........ cloud your judgement around here please.

Goodnight, I am off to bed.

Leo Komarov.

I am going, but the Ottawa crowd rarely brings it; although, the crowds at Red Black games are surprisingly good.

What? I never said that Finns have never pulled off dirty tricks. If one of my countrymen did a similar thing, I'd condemn him, it would make my team look bad.

I think everyone here is fairly biased here due to people supporting their own countries.

Let me first say I really believe PK is better than Pietro....

But Pietro was the one that was forced to play on his off side today, so I like to give him a pass. Especially in an exhibition game and the first game this year after the off season.

In general though, I pick Letang over the 4 (including JayBo). The guy just led his team to the Stanley Cup. He just put up 67 points in 78 or so games. He has man the point for the Penguins, and knows where to feed Crosby. And that's not to say he's bad defensively, he was one of the top D man on the Pens, going up against Ovy, Stamkos, and Couture.

Nothing to worry about here, just an pre tourny game. Price and Crosby were all smiles after word. The US played like it was Game 7 for them, the Canadians just getting their grove together.

I thought Weber played solid too. Nothing flashy, nothing bad (except for some whiffs on the PP). He's just the prototypical stead defenseman that won't give coaches heart attacks.

When you guys see the Canadian sweater you guys will go into a tribal berserker state. Hockey is who we are. Be loud as ****, make it hostile. We have a score to settle on our soil tomorrow.

Go Canada Go!!

New to Ottawa? Guess you missed the World Juniors a few years back? They were pretty loud and proud then. I do remember Sens playoff games being quite raucous in years gone by as well.

Anyway you guys better bring it tomorrow as said!

I agree, in those events our crowds were loud, but I've also been in the CTC when you're able to hear a pin drop. All depends on how seriously the crowd takes this game; hopefully they do. Apparently there are still plenty of seats available for it, which I find surprising, the tickets weren't very expensive.

I wish I was. I legit planned on not watching or following it until tonights game. I thought it was going to be **** and I was nicely proven wrong.

The best hockey I've ever seen. More intense and physical than NHL Playoffs and Olympics. Faster speeds. Bigger checks. Way better teams. Team NA (World Cup) >>> Team Slovakia (Olympics)

These games are incredible so far, it's awesome to have hockey back in September.

Any of that "these guys don't take it seriously" or "all-star game intensity" narrative is flat out wrong. I miss seeing this type of intensity to hockey games. I suspect we shall see a few fights tomorrow night.

Because it's not like the NFL pre-season where scubs play clowns. This is pretty much your team, and ain't nothing like the real thing baby. At worst you build confidence. Not a bad thing.

Dispite the out come of any world cup win or lose Canadians can proudly count ALL of their wjc titles Olympic Medals. Not to mention the generational talents and legends of hockey all come from canada. Orr Gretzky Howe etc. Canada will always own hockey even if some amercanized marketing ploy by the nhl says it doesnt. Fun to watch tourney so far though.

Woah woah woah....C'mon now man. This was a decent game, but let's be honest it was quite sloppy at times. If that's the best Hockey you've ever seen then I feel sorry for you.
