Yeah, after I asked, I looked it up. He must have had an awful injury last year - played 9 games. Any idea what happened?

Not too enthused but we had positives, top 6 looked real good and defence generally played well despite some brain farts, I found they cleared the front of the net pretty well. Some negatives though were the bottom six who did pretty much nothing. Tell me again why we brought Paul, Ritchie and especially Gauthier?

I dont understand why you come on this board and trash talk Nurse over a guy that is in the NHL?
Now, my personal opinion of team Canada so far, they are a very fast team, much better than last years team...
I am ok by the way Hicketts played, but i would still prefer Fleury on the team...
I also thought that Petan and Point did NOT play well, i truly hope team Canada does a reversal and replaces Point...I dont understand what he brings that MDC doesnt....?
This is a very fast team, and i was very confident with Comrie in nets...
We will see how Fucale plays against Switzerland....

He's right though. Use to always be known as game summary.
I think it's still that in Europe.
They do it all the time. If we did it to them, they would have a fit.
And they like to praise their players to unrealistic levels. Then, when the players don't play to that level, they take a "Who Me?" attitude and claim they never thought the player would be that good to begin with.

He played for Plymouth in OHL.
late birth day 1994, drafted out of OHL in 2013, so he wasn't eligible to play in AHL until Plymouth season was over last year.
That's why only 9 games in Rockford

Sam played a very strong game tonight...I am impressed with TC....they dominated both games and i feel comfortable with Comrie...i hope this holds...
I really dont see why Point is on this team though..can someone explain to me his role...especially over MDC ?

I did a little digging. He was not injured. Only played in the AHL for 9 games last year - the rest of the time was in the O. This year he is still in the AHL. I always liked his game.
I know, anyone that thinks a guy like Nylander is a better hockey player needs to give there head a shake. Although he is far more talented.

I have a curiosity question, i think its Nylander, im not sure, but how come he wears his helmet way to high on his head?
He brings speed and grit to the line-up more than MDC. MDC wouldn't be playing with too many skilled players and in the World Juniors, it's hard to score without skilled players along with you. I guess they saw Fabbri, Paul and Petan on the 3rd line. MDC on the 4th didn't fit because he wouldn't be playing with skilled players but more so just grinders and energy guys like Crouse, Gauthier and Virtanen. Virtanen is a skill guy but he has alot of grit in his game that suits well on the 4th line.
Point the extra guy has speed, he works hard and wins puck battles.

You are really taking this personally. I don't think he has come anywhere close to living up to his hype. Remember how he was going to be rookie of the year in the NHL? He never finished in the Top 10 in voting. Remember how he was going to go #1 overall... some of us called him going #4 -

As for this thread... It would be like someone in an American Game Thread saying Eichel will be better than McDavid. I wouldn't have an issue with that because it is their opinion and their thread. Again, what are you doing here?
Well I kept an eye on him and he isn't the guy to deke the whole team and score a beauty of a goal like McDavid but he is a pretty smart player. The bottom 6 didn't really get big scoring chances like the top 6 but they had time in the offensive zone so Point just added to that. He's good at cycling and getting open, basically keeping the play alive.
Check him out against Switzerland.

That said I agree that IMO Nurse has more upside than Jones.
I remember saying something similar when many Americans were saying Kessel was a better player than Crosby. Obviously that was before either played in the NHL.
That's not taking away how good Phil is; he just isn't on the same level as Sid.
