Just trying to be funny because these comments tend to show up when any European team play agains any N.A, but I think you got that :)

I didn't watch the game but heard people say that Ward sucks and Kylington didn't do *****. I still hope Sweden can turn this around and still do a good tournament even though this is not a very impressive team.

This is probably Canadas year with a great squad and on home ice, feels like they're the ones most pumped to get things done.

One guy that impressed me was Nylander. Fantastic hands.

I share your concerns and indeed, HC loves to dumb it down a little (or in this case dumb it up). They are infatuated with a heavy L.A. type of grind you down pro game that is designed and best suited to win a best of 7 NHL PO series and not a 1 game elimination international tournament. That's because there are certain bureaucrats at Hockey Canada (one in particular) who has NHL ambitions that far exceed this or any other international tournament. Now that there are a few ex-Hockey Canada guys currently holding down NHL jobs, perhaps they'll do all of us a favor and reach back and pluck this bureaucratic idiot, this Lloyd Christmas of Hockey Canada, out from behind his desk at Hockey Canada and to an NHL arena. And if he manages to con his way into an NHL gig, then my sympathies to the fans of that particular NHL team.

None of their "big bodies" impressed me at all.

but there were some positives last night, just not enough of them to move the confidence needle in the direction it needs to go.

Not so sure that I agree. We are playing on a smaller ice surface. Bigger bodies will make space especially when we play the Americans.

Man Canucks fans say hilarious things to try and get virtanen more ice

Yeah, Grönborg can now be certain he needs to focus on playing hockey not just running players with big Leafs on their chests... Cant remember seeing such a poor and unfocused showing from a Swedish WHJ team in recent history. :help:

Yes, I noticed that too, and wondered when the CND Coach was gonna just throw the 4th line out there to retaliate, but it didn't get to that point. :hit:

Point wise it was a meaningless game, so it was the coaches time to experiment with different ideas & strategies. I'm sure we'll see a different Swedish team when it counts.

Oooohhhh, can't wait for that game! New Years Eve Classic!

"OK Bud". :shakehead Again, build the kid up and then when he doesn't play up to expectations, deny, deny, deny. I sincerely can't believe how the American fans now deny how hyped Seth Jones was. I just don't get it. At least be honest.

As for Hartman...

I did a little digging. He was not injured. Only played in the AHL for 9 games last year - the rest of the time was in the O. This year he is still in the AHL. I always liked his game.

Dude. Give it a rest.

Lazar captain.

Reinhart and mcdavid named A's

Really thought morrisey would be an A but can't argue with the choices. Doesn't really matter anyways but I'm glad they are putting a lot of confidence into mcdavid which means he won't get the mackinnon/drouin/and mcdavid last year treatment where no matter how well he plays he will still sit the majority

The coaching staff really needs to stop over thinking and over coaching. The last few tournaments there are have been some mind boggling decisions when it comes to lines and ice time. McDavid, Lazar etc need to get major ice time simple as that. I get that you want to build chemistry with the whole line-up but in a short tournament like this your best players have to play. How many times did we see MacKinnon as the 13th forward or on the 4th line..yet he was the consensus #1 pick in the draft..didn't make sense.

They've had similar warm-up games earlier years where the main purpose of the game seems to show Canada they're not scared of them. Childish and stupid imo but hopefully they've got it out of their system now and can start playing hockey. I'm not too worried yet. They should improve as the tourny gets rolling.

2012 was infuriating as a Mooseheads fan, lets break up the best duo in possibly all of Jr hockey and then give the upcoming #1 pick less than 5 minutes a game in a 13th forward grinder role.

What's even worse is that now the Leafs have Spott
