It's the offseason
When these types of threads pop up
Every single day

Too many syllables in last stanza

Nope. Read it again.

Ev er y sin gle day =6

Dunno where you're from but it's common for people with many different accents to just pronounce "every" with 2 syllables ("EV-ree")

Every is clearly a 3 syllable word, even if it isn't colloquially pronounced as such.

The correct way to write this in haiku would be:

"Ev'ry single day"

"Every" can be shortened to "ev'ry" can be functionally shortened to "e'er" even though "e'er" is technically short for "ever"

I would have thought it was three myself. Damn English, lol. Ever is two syllables, but every is also two syllables. As an EFL teacher, who knew I would learn something none hockey related and apropos to my job? Can I now rationalize my use of this site as a work reference?:naughty:

Subban got traded!
But please stop the Trouba props;
We're not Montreal.

Trouba's not P.K
JvR the best offer
If traded you'll see.

That said just sign him
5 a year for 5 years, fair
Then it will all stop.

Subban for Weber
Ha ha ha ha ha
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Not that Weber's bad
But that D is now so slow
Pricer, stop da puck.

T. Hall for Larsson
A trade for needs, I get it
The value still sucks.

Really not even
A G prospect like Wedgewood
Added as a plus!?
