The Tweet repeats the 'haven't given it much thought' line directly from the video so I don't think he's speaking on some personal interaction here. Just feels like he mixed in his own opinion
Yes, it's definitely his opinion from hearing him speak, not just reading a quote.

The full clip definitely makes it sound like ROR is done here.

Lots of references to the team as "they" instead of "we", and apologizing for not getting the job done on the way out.

Very easy to make that conclusion - I made that conclusion as well.
Sure but he also said result 'we' wanted, I think reading into that is a bit much. I genuinely think he just hasn't really decided anything yet and needs time to figure it out - will he be back here? I don't know, but I don't think it's a done deal that he's gone or has no interest in an extension like CJ made it sound.

hahahaha. Paraphrasing Tavares, "we didn't win because the playoffs are very hard."
Playoffs are hard?

We’ve been building like they are easy.

The issue with all of them, and I don't believe it is they don't care, is they refuse to make any adjustment to their game.

5 goals total in the past 5 do or die games.

Eventually you have to try to change something if it is not working. Get off the perimeter. Stop stick checking and maube try to flatten someone. Drive hard to the net to create something.

Matthews tried to be physical, but he is a big guy. He could do more. If Bennet can trick someone, Matthews could send someone into next week.

They are either getting really terrible advice, or they are flat out stupid. You can't do the same thing over and over when it has shown zero success
Agreed but I blame it more on the environment/coaching.
Pretty much the whole team plays that way.

I am responding to someone who said McDrai did all they could... Draisaitl was 0-1-1 and -7 in his last four games.

His statement was just wrong...

Drai carried the team on his shoulders round 1. McDavid round 2 (5 goals, 10 points in 6 games). Still wasn't enough.

The leafs had NOBODY step up round 2.

Didn't Oreilly chase the money in the past..? Sure things change but this his final contract, I expect him to go to the highest bidder, which we probably shouldn't be.
I mean, he did get an Osmow's endorsement and commercial almost immediately after being traded here. Doubt he got much of that in St.Louis or will get that anywhere else at this point in his career. If someone offers him millions more though obviously you just have to move on.

So another non-hockey guy? I don't love it

Some fans act like he was the only guy who wrote the CBA. Literally hundreds of people worked on the CBA. Pridham was a part of that.

We have accomplished nothing with him, this FO or coaching staff. Any team can take anyone from our front office or coaching staff and i wouldnt care. All the best to them.

Just leaving this here for when one of our players say something like this and people lose their mind, want to be able to quote this.

I don’t doubt that they want to win. I don’t believe any athlete wants to lose.
The problem is the sum of the parts. Just because you have talent doesn’t mean it’s the best recipe.

We are obviously lacking traits in the core members. You can’t all be the same.

You're not even a leaf fan you're a fan of dubas so maybe you shouldn't be shitting on others fandom levels

No, I am a fan of the team and think Dubas will do a better job than most GMs available. Just because I am not a grumpy old man like a lot of people here doesn't mean I am not a fan of the team.

O’Reilly dad tweeted basically a good bye message to leafs fans . He’s 100% gone.

So we’re 3 for 3 on references to Bob and thus one of the excuses being ‘we got goalied’ instead of accountability for taking Panthers likely and playing like shit, trailing 70% of the playoffs
That Bunting answer was disgusting.

He's about to get a huge pay day, why not just own it and say - we weren't good enough.

Let Florida gas up their goalie. That's not our job
