It was a hand or finger injury nothing major.

Emil Heineman made a strong impression on the Montreal Canadiens. Forwarden went there to get to know the North American game, and it ended up being one of the last players to leave the NHL team.

For Leksand, as it was constantly said that he would return to if there was no play in the NHL, it became a nervous wait.

– So when I talked to people in Montreal, I think everyone was equally surprised at how good Emil actually is. I was probably 75/25 that he would stay over there. Time passed and Emil had to stay all the way – then you become a little so there that you start to think that he would probably stay, says Thomas Johansson to Falu Kuriren.

No players that HuGo acquired last years are going to play a huge role on our team. From Heineman, to Barron to Smilanic. Hopefully we do better with the picks....Heineman has the greatest chance but he's always freakin hurt.

Only since he was exchanged to the Habs. He was just hit fully by the Habs curse.

I think that’s a bit early to say for Barron and Heineman, no? These guys are barely 20 years old and they’ve definitely shown good things at times

Not a fan of Barron. Was a fan of Heineman. But I guess his injuries have been underevaluated.

Do you know how he got injured? He crashed into the boards behind the net because he accelerated to tip in a goal and got his hand hurt in the process. No one can do anything about that, it’s an unfortunate injury.

Maybe. But it's not the only injury he had. Again, he is the guy I have the most expectations for. But he needs a lot of playing time. And get those injuries behind him.

He plays the game really hard with a relentless very physical forecheck, and he gies to the net hard at high speed.

I hope these attributes don't lead to a short career.

I was hoping he'd get a shot in Montreal.

Not sure why he won't. Oh well I'm in favor of the tank. And if he's a player that would help the tank, better for his development for him to be playing in Europe.
Well they already have too many forwards, no? After the Drouin and Dach wrists where one can’t shoot and the other take face-offs I’m really anxious to see if he still has that release. I’m convinced habs have enough rookies with him, Beck and the gang to have a really good 2nd line finally next year. Take out hab 1st line today and they look beer league. (Edit; guys like Anderson and Dvorak/Monahan can be a good 3rd line).

There's no room for him in Montreal, though.

I was hoping he'd still stay for Laval. But we know it was Montreal or SHL.

I hope he gets meaningful minutes and deployment there.

To me, Dadonov, Hoffman, and Drouin don't exist. So there's plenty of room.

If anyone needs to go to Laval due to a numbers game, I just listed 3 players that can go.

They might not exist for you. But they exist on the team.

They don't have much value, but we know those guys are trade chips. So they ain't going down.

At the same time, Hoffman and Dadonov have been better lately. So at the very least, they could look more appealing to someone.

They have no value. They will never be trade chips - that's what I mean by don't exist - just like Matthew Perreault last year and PK Subban the year before. Book it.

But yes, no one has a crystal ball. so it is within the realm of possibility that they get their trade value up and management had to make a decision on Heineman pronto.

I can’t wait to move on from them too, fellow #26 :) Important thing right now is he is signed, starting to play again and only 21 like the rest of the young studs.

Something tells me H is going to be better than we think he is. Never seen him play but have hunch he's 25-30 goal, two way winger.
Reminds me of Anderson, only faster at accelerating from a standstill for separation and better defensively.
