Player Discussion Emil Heineman

I can't speak for everyone who were underwhelmed with the trade. I was actually happy with just the 1st rd pick. Even if my original opinion of Heineman was that he was an average prospect. I've personally come out and stated that I underestimated the value we received. He hasn't proven he's a slam dunk yet. But I have been impressed with what I've seen of him with the Habs so far.
I wouldn’t sweat it. It’s a message board not the Habs’ scouting department and even so, the latter have afforded much more than 15 minutes to certain prospects only to get it badly wrong.

Just look at the reactions in here when the Habs announced they had drafted Owen Beck — the takes were horrible and misguided. And yet a few months later, you couldn’t find one negative assessment of Beck in the thread that announced the signing of his ELC.

This happens all the time in here. What are we to do, lambaste everyone who gets it wrong cause they didn’t spend 15 minutes reading the right material, or spent 15 minutes or more misinterpreting a player profile or not have had the foresight to have read the alleged tea leaves, correctly?

No one has a 100% record of accuracy and no one should either in an endeavour that is fraught with risk and a glaring lack of access to resources, not to mention giving up more than 15 minutes of your day just to try and engage with some who will use anything you write as an excuse to issue condescending repartee and ad hominem spewing.

You made an effort and you were in good faith — you don’t owe anyone anything.

I wonder if Similac and Schnarr were throw ins or if Hughes overestimated them.
A first and a potential 3rd line guy for a #5 defensman is total obliteration. Schnarr is a higher end AHL guy who can fill in when injuries hit midway through the season. Very good pickups.

Schnarr is a middle-of-the-pack AHL player, but he brings size and is still kind of young. No NHL upside though.

Smilanic is more likeely to bust than to burst, but it was still a good trade for the pick and the low, but not inexistent odds of Smilanic becoming a player.

Sucks he got hurt and had very limited exposure, back to Europe most likely, not that there is room anyways.

I called 6 months when he fell, the people who double jinxed no take back probably helped. I hope this has no impact on his shot, it was his top hand unless I am mistaken.

Interesting...

Yes, and we are all pleased with that.

A quick look at his game log on Eliteprospects shows he played 2 games for Leksands after the trade: Feb 17 and Mar 17. Hopefully the CH isn't his curse.
Shit happens
Take solace this new injury isnt another concussion at least
Just banged his thumb crashing into the boards, not career threatening
