Tbh I didn't think the Canes created a whole lot. I thought we were pretty solid today at negating chances. Didn't like the shorties and I don't think that's sustainable at least, but VV being at almost -2 goals saved above expected on those goals doesn't help.

Yeah 5v5 they didn’t create much, it’s more on the PP with those shorties. And of course the goalie.

Weird spot for Lindy here with Vitek. But he did it to himself, should have just stuck with Schmid.

This season has been great but the memes coming out of it even more legendary.

That was one strange fking game. We score 8, but give up 3 shorties and 3 posts. We had one or two ourselves. The goaltending was horrible. The best thing to come out of this game is our main guys scored and Luke Hughes was great. We’re lucky to have him. I’m just glad we won.

To me the main thing was we figured out a way to counter the Canes forecheck and generate offence. After the first two games , ot lokked like we had no answer.
It’s massive that we proved today hat we can overcome the Canes game style and ne the better team . Just have to keep up the unrelentless effort and play the same way we did today.
Oh and have Schmid play. VV is fighting it big time right now and it shows.

I hated Vitek’s game but it’s not like he gave up soft goals per se, it’s just like 80% of their quality chances wound up in the net. Three SH breakaways is a team issue though

Against the Canes you have to be, they’ve outscored our PP while short handed by SIX goals this year and the only PP goal we got was the extended 5 on 3
