They do need to be better with goaltending and on the PP. If I’m the canes I’m not sure this game worries me as far their chances. Devils still need to tighten up, get some better goaltending, and stop being absolute amateurs on the PP. They’ve shown they can make adjustments and learn on the fly, let’s do it boys!

He wasn't really noticeable this game, which is a W. I'd go back to 11-7 with Schmeeeed in net.

He made several mistakes that, in a non blowout game, would've been a lot more noticeable. All the eyes right now are on Vanacek for not being able to make a save but I don't really want Smith back in again.

Tbh I didn't think the Canes created a whole lot. I thought we were pretty solid today at negating chances. Didn't like the shorties and I don't think that's sustainable at least, but VV being at almost -2 goals saved above expected on those goals doesn't help.

Yes there was that one in the second period I think where he tried to skate out of the zone right up the middle, a defender behind him caught up to him while one in front got on top of him with pressure, he lost the puck, it wound up being a pretty good chance for the canes. Just off the top of my head. He was not good at all.

Huge win over Rawly, but also a very fluky one with Veetech playing the way he played. I don't think anybody trusts Lindy to play the right goalie next game. He'll go back to Veetech and we will lose. Book it. Savor the win for the next 48 hours folks.

Excited for the Laffs/FLA game in a few. There isn't a team more perfect left in these playoffs than FLA. I've been waiting all day for this game and some quality hockey.

Absolutely loved seeing them take the physicality to Carolina. They responded how they had to today. Got to clean up the PP but no complaints. They’re back in this series. As we’ve learned all season, never count these guys out.

Oh yeah. Luke is going to be an absolute star. Tough play on the PP but he’s a wizard out there.

Maybe for you Luke in was the obvious move... for me, and many others, it really wasn't.
Luke going in given what we've struggled to do against the Canes seemed like an obvious move to me, and it paid off big time. Great transition game, great retrievals, good decisions in the O-zone, didn't fold under the forecheck. Great game for him.

It always should've been so obvious. At worst it should've been 11-7 from the start and you see what you have in him.

Now yes, I agree, but let's not act as if Luke Hughes is was the obvious move since the beginning of the playoffs. And they were not going to change the defense just after dominating the Rangers.
