Against the Canes you have to be, they’ve outscored our PP while short handed by SIX goals this year and the only PP we got was the 5 on 3
Meh, I'm not going to worry a whole lot about it. A lot of luck and things going right goes in it and I don't expect something like that happening again. Just re-watched the goals, fairly easily correctable stuff. But it's all good haha!

I learned a few things watching this game.

1. Luke Hughes will be a star professional hockey player.
2. It is possible to score 2 short-handed goals on the same power play. In decades of watching multiple thousands of games, I can't recall ever seeing that.
3. Carolina's top scorer is a lame little B cheapshot artist, pulling disrespectful crap I wouldn't have done in middle school (when I was generally disrespectful 24 hours a day).
4. I was more nervous with a 4 goal lead at 8-4 and 10 minutes left than I would have been if the score were 4-0. Which is weird.
5. Jack Hughes thought he could play a professional hockey career and not lose a tooth.

Brind'amur presser:
-Didnt give ourselves much of a chance
-They took it to us
-Maybe if Canes get the first one things would be different. They were the better team, no doubt
-Didnt consider goal change after 1st
-They were on it
-Mcleod SHG was the back-breaker
-Not happy with Slavin penalty. Says he played it as they teach it. Not happy with a lot of what happened late
-Didnt like the way the sticks knocked out werent called both ways. But says it wasnt why they lost the game
-ended with "Tough night for us"

I absolutely need a Vitek save there. By that point the Canes had created nada.

For the record, I thought the call was horrible. All stick.

Terrible call and Vitek was shaky but sometimes a win like that can help turn things around for struggling goalie. Kinda like a broken bat infield single can help a batter get out of a slump.

To me the main thing was we figured out a way to counter the Canes forecheck and generate offence. After the first two games , ot lokked like we had no answer.
It’s massive that we proved today hat we can overcome the Canes game style and ne the better team . Just have to keep up the unrelentless effort and play the same way we did today.
Oh and have Schmid play. VV is fighting it big time right now and it shows.

I'm not entirely convinced they figured out this team just yet. 2 things: 1. much more favorable matchups 2. Luke in, Graves out.
