And that was the game where the refs were the MVP for the Leafs
This is correct. Francois St. Laurent

And after that game, that referee never refed another game of us the rest of the way so maybe the NHL saw it too.

You might as well scrap every single game we played against Toronto.

If Cookie, McCabe and Schenn are the difference in this series, we are getting swept.

They aren't and neither is O'Reilly, just saying that Tampa tried to get under their skin and they handled it pretty well. The Panthers need to play their own game that's all, no need to go and try to run guys over.

Surprised but goaltending for us, wont be an achilles heel in the series, for the Leafs maybe.

Plus Lyon beat them down the stretch run no? 40 saves

Also gives us a fresh goalie after the OT win on Sunday then travel etc.
Just needs how to hold on to a puck mid flight.

TBH PoMo round 1 has earned some trust from me, I wouldn't have done it but it's not like Lyon was bad vs Boston, just sweating thinking about Matthews vs that glove side.

I think the point being that they aren't the soft Leafs of yesteryear, which I think is true. They've been playing a bit different this year, kind of like how we've been playing different. The parallels between the development of our two teams is actually really weird. Obviously not exact, but its similar.

I also think Leafs added the right grit guys this time around. RoR, Acciari, McCabe are solid lunch pail guys that don't mess around.

We've still got more points in the team chaos department, so that'll help set us apart. I think just inserting more randomness and chaos evens out the skill gap, kind of like it did vs. the Bruins, but don't see the Leafs getting pushed around like they would have been in the past.

Interesting choice starting with Lyon, but it kind of makes sense. Bob was pretty solid, but wouldn't say he's riding a hot streak and could probably benefit from rest. We aren't sweeping the Leafs, we'll see Bob come back again, just like in the last series.

What...? is that confirmed?
guys are exhausted….

Someone posted it earlier.
How much ready the Player are after Game 7 exitment and could it be some of them are menthal tired.
That was a real good Question or mention. They were ready from Minute 1 to play Game 7, can they hold this Level.
To Question answer follows tonight.

Also the Physical aspect, how much Game 7 Series can we play before we are going to deadly tired.
And playing in your Prime or pick level as we are, in the right Time is something hard to time and reach,

If Duke doesn’t do much in Game 1, I wouldn’t be upset if they call up Denisenko.

I know he’s been coming back from his injury but even last season in the playoffs he didn’t seem to add much.

Hoping we can play disciplined and avoid giving up too many PP. This will be a tough series but being the underdog suits this team.

Boston fan coming in peace. First off - congrats on the round 1 win. Well deserved - you're team was resilient and made the Bruins look like a run of the mill team. Montour is a monster - thought he stood out more than any other player.

Coming here to BEG you to crush the Leafs. The only thing that will make this off season more painful for a Bruins fan is the Leafs succeeding. Punish them. Good luck!

It's a double whammy if we pull it off for you
  1. Toronto loses
  2. Montreal erupts because they're getting the 29th overall pick instead of the 17th
Have fun on their boards if turns out this way

This Barkov debate is almost as annoying as the Bobrovsky crap.

Almost.
Yeah, maybe we should trade him for someone like Nugent Hopkins, who had 104 points in the regular season and only 4 assist in 6 games against the Kings.
Or Panarin who had 2 secondary assist against the Devils in 7 lol.
Or Zibanejad 1+3 in 7.
Bergeron was also a huge difference maker for the Bruins with his 2-way play: 1+0 in 3 and -6.
I could go on and on..

I hope Barkov scores some more goals, but I'm just baffled at some of the posters here saying he's been horrible.

Start at minute 5: Yandle...Florida is at the top of cap...yeah because we're paying you 5M...

Edit: Yands on Bennett...either he will get suspended or win the series for them!

f*** Keith Yandle

I'd get out and push if I could.

Panarin and Zibanejad were horrible this playoffs. Zibanejad has actually had good playoff series in the past though.

Bergeron has many good playoff series over his career.

Nugent-Hopkins whilst a good player, is not deemed to be in the same tier as Barkov. Weird you would include him.

Barkov is supposed to be in his peak, but he's not yet once had one good playoff series.

So congratulations on Barkov being maybe slightly less shit than Panarin in the playoffs.

Didn't know this before, but Matthews and Marner know Tkachuk pretty well. Matthews played with him at the US NTDP in 2013-15, Marner played with him on the same line for the London Knights.

Will be interesting to see how Tkachuk approaches this and how the Leafs respond. They didn't do too bad against the Lightning antics in round 1. I know everyone talking about playing physical against them and we definitely need to, but I have a feeling they won't get as easily knocked off their game like the Bruins were.
Yep they were linemates. Do you know who the Third linemate was? He's in the NHL....

.

Christian Dvorak of the Montreal Canadians

I believe the round one series Boston Florida recap goes to about the 36:33 mark. I haven't listened to the whole episode yet to hear the round two preview.

I’d put Barkov line on Tavares. Lundell line on Matthews. Bennett line on O’Reilly. Staal line on Acciari

Our special teams is going to be the difference. 5v5 I think we can take on anyone, but our PK is a disaster and we tend to be on the PK often. That could cost us if we don’t get our shit figured out

Im doing Lundell line against Matthews line
Barkov against ROR line
Chucky against Tavares

Or Chucky line on Matthews. I want them pounding their top players. I feel like they can be rattled when you take the body to them.
