We have plenty of them. At least one for each line. The problem is that you don't have a coach who can get them executing set plays in order to develop a rhythm. To utilize a puck possession system you got to drill set plays until you are able to improvise. It wouldn't happen over night. But the Rangers, within a season, could start playing that system effectively.
Most of their Dmen can pass the puck. Most of their wings. There would have to be some personnel changes(like Boyle). But the Rangers could adjust to that system. Especially with the new prospects coming to the team in a year or so.
I do agree that we can't play a run and gun system because we don't have enough snipers nor speed throughout our lineup. But a puck possession system could work imo.

Being an eagles or cubs fan is FAR worse. Rangers have at least won something within a generation.
i dont see puck possession in this system due to lack of skill in personnel. Nor do we have the large bodies to dominate on the boards and forecheck like the blues/bruins/kings. This team has no exceptional talent outside of lundqvist.
Well I don't even think that's close. The last time the Cubs won, WWI was still 6 years away.
We should have a ''Who is the most self defeating poster on the Rangers' board'' tournament. When the winner has been picked, he will win the great prize of being able to say 'I told you so' to all of us and go back to his daily life of waiting for the subway lines to go, once again, down.

18k fans a night with the cheapest ticket being $50- multiply by 41 in a normal season thats probably close to 50 million, plus the rangers have had on average 5 home playoff games in recent years and you're talking close to 60 million. That is enough to pretty much pay every player's salary for one season. That's no small pennies: if Dolan lost even half that revenue because fans were unhappy he'd be forced to do something.
I agree with the other posts though that fans will NEVER stop going.
the tickets will still be sold as part of corporate deals most likely. Even if no one attends, the tickets are still bought.

Yeh your right but still it was last century for all 3 teams to win a championship . with the players we have now we should have one at least one more in the last few years we do have the best goalie on the planet

MSG Shares have been on a tear for the last year. pick up some shares and hedge some disappointment from the team.
Alright these are the guys that could play in a puck possession system:
Krieder, Nash, Stepan, Richards, Brassard, Zuccarello, and Clowe can all play in that system easily. Pretty much all of our D men can as well.
The only two guys(who play in the top six) who I am not sure about in that system are Hagelin(who is developing) and Cally(who has some terrible offensive habits). But even those two guys could probably be coached to develop that game.
Then you have all the turn over with guys like JT Miller, Christian Thomas, Faste etc who would be FAR better in a puck possession system than a grinding one.
So, all you really have are your bottom six players who don't really make or break a puck possession system anyways. Not to mention, with the turnover with the younger players, our bottom six is going to be MUCH different in the next couple of years. So essentially our 4th line can't play in that system. Brian Boyle can't play in that system. You can't replace Boyle?
