Get rid of Torts. Get Guy Boucher and I am perfectly fine to play more of a run n gun type of offense with our defense and Hank back there, we should be more confident than other teams that play run and gun. Who plays run n gun that has a Henrik type goalie? Answer? No one.

If the Rangers were gonna do that I'd want Alain Vigneault from Vancouver

We should have a ''Who is the most self defeating poster on the Rangers' board'' tournament. When the winner has been picked, he will win the great prize of being able to say 'I told you so' to all of us and go back to his daily life of waiting for the subway lines to go, once again, down.

As long as we also have who is the most arrogant. (Not saying you are here).

After every loss people love to shout at other people on here from their ivory towers.

So we're not "real fans" if we don't say the team played great after not scoring a single goal in over 60 minutes and not getting a shot on net in 2 consecutive powerplay chances?

I have a great idea lets call up Kreider and get him in theb line up, we all know what he did last year.....oh wait that's right Tortorella ruined him...

he is to blame just like keenan was to blame for tony amonte in 93 94 he put amonte in pisitions where he could not produce and was able to get him traded because of that reason he wasent a keenan type player just like kreider is not a torts player. and yes i am one of the few that still thinks that we could have won with amonte here.

That includes 2 powerplays.

GREAT offense

Giddy up! This is far from just a coaching problem.

**** rolls downhill and the "top" of our hill is full of it.

Sometimes its less, I hope to live to see a Cup, and more I hope I live to see Sather canned.

Alright these are the guys that could play in a puck possession system:

Krieder, Nash, Stepan, Richards, Brassard, Zuccarello, and Clowe can all play in that system easily. Pretty much all of our D men can as well.

The only two guys(who play in the top six) who I am not sure about in that system are Hagelin(who is developing) and Cally(who has some terrible offensive habits). But even those two guys could probably be coached to develop that game.

Then you have all the turn over with guys like JT Miller, Christian Thomas, Faste etc who would be FAR better in a puck possession system than a grinding one.

So, all you really have are your bottom six players who don't really make or break a puck possession system anyways. Not to mention, with the turnover with the younger players, our bottom six is going to be MUCH different in the next couple of years. So essentially our 4th line can't play in that system. Brian Boyle can't play in that system. You can't replace Boyle?

Hagelin is a very good puck possession player and I think he'd be the perfect 3rd liner.

Aside from that, I don't really see players who can be relentless on the forecheck.

We could have won with Weight, Amonte, or Mike Gartner. Stupid trades all around.

No, it doesn't. I've been watching the team since the 70s through thick and thin. What a loss like this shows is that this is a poorly coached hockey team that is making a good roster look inept, and losing in spite of a world class goalie shutting the opposition out in regulation because they cannot generate any offense, even when they're a man up.

This team has no structure in the defensive zone, no effective breakout plan, no transition, no utilization of the speed of the players who can fly, an easy to shut down offense that's generated from behind the net resulting in shots into a goalie who is waiting for a shot while pinned to a post. There are few rebounds because our forwards are in back of the net, not in front of it. I'm not even going to start on the PP or go on about this, because there's no point.

Clearly you are a horrible fan. In your 40 years as a fan you should know only true fans make excuses for the team no matter what and stay positive even when the going gets tough. Anything can happen. :sarcasm:  :help:

Well he only gets a few minutes to rember and who is he playin with? He was a game breaker last year and this staff totally screwed with him..

lol.

Kreider's PPG in AHL is less than that of Luke Adam's and Phil Varone. Not to mention being less productive than Ranger prospects Marek Hrivik and JT Miller.

Kreider is the problem, he is not a good hockey player. Another brawns over brain draft pick.

Hagelin is a very good puck possession player and I think he'd be the perfect 3rd liner.

Which is why I am saying they need to switch to a puck possession system. You don't have to live and die on the forecheck in that system.

If they can't properly develop this kid it would be a tragedy

Right on the money savard finally became the player we all thought he would be with the right coaching then he gets hurt. Hope he comes back soon still wear my savard jersey from time to time

I agree to a point I'm an avid Canucks fan and hang around there boards so I mean I know he doesn't seem to adjust properly mid game but he could certainly help the offense that the rangers have.

From what I've gathered from Canucks fans, he is more or less another Torts.

Do not want. Especially with Babcock right there. I'd take another mans life for Babs. Possibly yours! :D

Which is why I am saying they need to switch to a puck possession system. You don't have to live and die on the forecheck in that system.

You really need a dominant physical specimen of a center that can play a 200 ft game or an insanely skilled #1C that can match up against top lines and still maintain puck possession hockey. Rangers have neither of those and those two are key to opening up puck possession hockey.

he is to blame just like keenan was to blame for tony amonte in 93 94 he put amonte in pisitions where he could not produce and was able to get him traded because of that reason he wasent a keenan type player just like kreider is not a torts player. and yes i am one of the few that still thinks that we could have won with amonte here.

You're not alone Torts is of the same mold as Keenan. They would rather lose with their systems than humble themselves for a different approach. This guy over coaches. Every player is reduced to playing the same way. Zero creative process. Purely a motivator, no strategy whatsoever.

Well he only gets a few minutes to rember and who is he playin with? He was a game breaker last year and this staff totally screwed with him..

I'd have to say the blame has to be 50/50 on this one. Looks like Kreider is playing mind games with himself, and the coaching staff isn't using him properly. Just a poor situation all around.

Next year he really needs to spend the whole season in one place and get his act together, whether it's the AHL or NHL.

wonder what is worse being a ny ranger fan or a fan of the chicago cubs, philadelphia eagles

Difference is that the Cubs fans know they're pathetic and rightfully have a woe-is-me attitude. Eagles fans are just nasty (a Philadelphia thing), though their team has been legit contenders many times. Rangers fans have an inexplicable arrogance for a team with one championship in 73 years.
